IMPROVEMENT IN WAGON-SEATS.
Specication forming part of Letters Patent No. 136,814, dated March 18, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, A. J. GOGAN, of Bon My invention consists in the use of spiral springs in the.hereinaiter-described seat, in
such manner that they will, with the aid of rubber blocks which are so arranged as to relieve the springs When depressed rto a certain extent, hold any Weight required by a springseat.

G are the-stiles which sit on the vehicle on which the seat is to be used, and is passed under the board J, which is the bottom of the seat. H are bands of iron, which pass under the seat. I represents the spiral springs, Which are placed on the bottom at each end ofthe board J. K represents rubber blocks, which are placed on the board J in the center of the spiral springs.
When the seat is impressed with the usual eight it Will pass up and down by the Stiles I claim- The spring-seat, having for its support spiral springs and rubber blocks, the Whole arranged in the manner shown and described.
