This invention is for improvements in or relating toadve'rtising devices, and has for its main object to provide a construction 'which shall be particularly suitable for use,

What I'claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters'Patent is:-

1. An advertising device comprising in combination an illuminating device, a transparent support comprising at least two strips of transparent material arranged edge-toedge one above another in front of said illuminating device, distance-pieces between the adjacent edges of said strips, advertising matter comprising opaque letters having each a thin lug inserted into a gap between two adjacent strips and readily detachably suspended thereby on the front of said transparent support, the thickness of each of which distance-pieces is only slightly greater than the thickness of a lug, a translucent pictorial screen interposed between said illuminating device and said transparent support, and a diffusing screen of textile material interposed between said illuminating device and said pictorial screen, the picture on said screen being visible simultaneously with said letters, substantially as set forth.

An advertising device comprising in combination a casing, an illuminating device mounted in the same at the rear thereof, a diffusing'screen of textile material detachably mounted in said casing in front of said illuminating device, a translucent pictorial screen detachably mounted in said casing in frontof said diffusing screen, a transparent support comprising at least two strips of transparent material removably arranged in said casing one above another edge-to-edge in front of said plctorlal screen, d1stancepieces separating the adjacent edges of said strips, advertising matter comprising opaque letters having each a thin lug inserted into the gap between two adjacent strips and readilydetachably suspended thereby on the front of said transparent support, the thickness of each of which distance-pieces is only slightly greater than the thickness of a lug, and a glazed frame detachably mounted on said casing with its glass situated just in front of said advertising matter.

6. An advertising device, comprising a casing, means for illuminating the interior of said casing, a pictorial screen that is at least partly translucent extending across one side of said casing, a plurality of transparent supports, and an opaque letter removably mounted on one of said transparent supports to appear in contrast in combination with said screen when the casing is illuminated, substantially as set forth.

7. An advertising device, comprising a casing, means for illuminating the entire interior of said casing simultaneously, a pictorial screen that is at least partly translucent extending across one side of said casing, a plurality of transparent supports, and a plurality of opaque letters removably mounted on at least one of said supports to appear in contrast in combination with said screen when the casing is illuminated, substantially as set forth.

8. An advertising device, comprising a casing, means for illuminating the interior of said casing, a pictorial screen that is at least partly translucent extending across one side of said casing, a plurality of trans arent supports having their adjacent ec ges in spaced relation, and an opaque letter removably suspended from the edge of one of said supports to appear in contrast in combination with said screen when the casing is illuminated, substantially as set forth.
