Description

M. GOLDSTElN. v
LOUNGING FOOTREST, APPLICATION man mac. 16. 1919.
"III! "I."
Patented Dec. 21, 1920.
UNITED STATES MORRIS GOLDSTEIN, OF PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA.
LOUN GIN G-FOOTREST.
Application filed December 16, 1919.
To all whom it may concern:
e it known that I, MORRIS Gonns'rnm, a citizen of the United States, residing at Pittsburgh, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Lounging-Footrests, of which improvement the following is a specification.
My invention relates to lounging devices and comprises a foot rest or foot lounge and a tray for refreshments and cigars, etc.
The object of my invention is to produce a device of this character which is adapted to furnish comfortable support for the feet in horizontal position combined with a tray for refreshments or cigars. I accomplish this by means of the device hereinafter more specifically described, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, forming part hereof, in which Figure 1 is a plan view.
Fig. 2 is a front elevation partly in section.
Fig. 3 is a side elevation.
Fig. 4 is an enlarged sectional elevation of one of the oylindrical posts and foot rests' with its supporting mechanism.
Referring to said drawings, 1 is a base or support upon which, at each side thereof, Vertically disposed cylindrical posts 2-2 are secured. 3-43 are cylinders inclosed within said cylindrical posts to the upper end of which the lower horizontal portion of the bifurcated support 4 is secured. The said support 4: carries in its upper members, bearings for the shafts 5 upon which the rollers 6 are mounted and are adapted to freely rotate. A spring 7 is interposed between the lower horizontal portion of the said bifurcated supports 4-4 and the lower end or bottom of the cylindrical posts 2-2 Specification of Letters Patent.
' Patented Dec. 21, 1920.
Serial No. 345,215.
feet resting on the rollers, different horizon-' tal positions may be assumed dependent upon the weight imposed upon the springs as shown in dotted lines Fig. 4:. 9 is a column or stem secured in any suitable manner to the base or support 1, preferably intermediate the cylindrical posts 2-2, and has secured to its upper end a tray or plate 10 to which is attached an ash tray 11 and a match box holder 12.
Having described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. In a device of the character described comprismg a base or support spaced apart cylindrical posts, a rotatable foot rest resiliently supported in said cylindrical posts.
2. In a device of the character described the combination of a base or support, a pair of spaced apart cylindrical posts, cylinders inclosed within said posts, rotatable rests secured in the upper end of said cylinders and a spring interposed between the upper end of said cylinders and the lower end of said cylindrical posts whereby said rotatable rests are resilientl supported in different positions depen ent upon the compression of said spring.
' In testimony whereof, I have hereunto signed my name in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
MORRIS GOLDSTEIN. Witnesses:
CLARENCE A. WILLIAMS, JOHN H. Ronny.
