A check for picker sticks for looms comprising a flexible strap, supports for bothends of the strap holding the intermediate' portion of the strap tight with both ends of the strap movable in the samedirection about a common'axis, and elastic means common to both ends of the strap and arranged to yield to the impact ofthe shuttle against the picker stick and through the latter to the check.

A check for picker sticks of looms, comprising a rotatable member, an arm rotatable about the same axis as-the rotatable member, a spring connected to'the rotatable member for imparting. thereto a ,rotative in the direction of the length of tendency in one direction, and a strap for H location in thepath o'fthe'picker stick'to be engaged thereby between its ends, said strap beingjfast at one, end to the rotatable member and at, the'other end'to the rotatable arm.

7 member also pivotally mounted on the sup port concentric, with the axis of movement of the arm, a strap fast at one end of the tail-like extension and; at theother 'endto spaced relation to the tail-like: extensionfof V I the support and constituting a connection between thearm and support to cause them to move together, a spring connecting the arm and support and tending to maintain the strap in a taut condition, and a guide in the path of the strap and arranged in spaced relation to the tail-like extension of the arm to provide an unbacked part of the strap constituting a yieldable impact surface for the picker stick, the guide being in the form of a fixed flange extended in the direction of travel of the strap to provide frictional resistance to the lengthwise movement thereof.

A checkfor picker sticks of looms, comprising a bracketwith a tableextension, an arm pivotally mounted at one end on the table and provided with a tail extending away from the table and located in substantially right angular relation thereto, a flange on the table, a yieldable support on the table, and a strap fast at one end to the yieldable support and at the other end to the tail end of the arm, the latter being under the control of the yieldable support through the strap, and said arm and table having coacting stop means for limiting movements of the arm about the spring support.

7. A check for picker sticks for looms comprising a support with a post thereon,

'of the spring such as to rotate theends of a screw for holding the post in place, a sleeve on the post, a spring carried by the post and sleeve with one end of the spring fast to the post and the, otherend fast to the sleeve, an arm carried by the screw as a pivot and projecting away therefrom, and a strap fast at one end to the sleeve and at the other end to the arm with the tendency the strap in the'same direction, and the support and arm having engaging stop parts opposing the movement of the spring in one direction. 8. A check for picker sticks of looms comprising a support with a post thereon, a screw for holding the post in place on the support, a rotatable sleeve on the post, a spring carried by the sleeve and post and connected at opposite ends to the respective sleeve and post, an arm carried by and rotatable about the screw and provided with a tail-like extension, and astrap fast at one end to the sleeve and at the other end to the extremity of the arm of the tail-like extension of the arm, the screwserving as a clamp member for the post to hold the latter and the spring in desired positions of adjustmentto regulate the tension of the spring.
