To all whom t may concern Be it known that I, VICTOR Kos'r, a citi- Zen of the United States, residing' at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combined Collar-l3ut ton and Necktie-Slides, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in combined collar lbutton and neck tie slides and one of the objects of the same is to improve and simplify the construction of such a device whereby it may be readily applied and which when in use will be maintainer. and held against slipping or dropping out of the proper position with respect to the collar, and which will also permit the neck tie to slide freely when drawn under the collar, when the latter is buttoned or fastened to the shirt.

To the attainment of this ends and the accomplishment of other new and useful objects as will appear, the invention consists in the features of novelty in substantially the construction, combination and arrangement of the several parts, hereinafter more fully described and claimed and shown in the accompanying drawing illustrating the invention and in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of an improved device of this character constructed in accordance with the principles of this invention and shown as being applied to a collar, a portion of the collar being broken away for the sake of clearness.

Referring more particularly to the drawing, the device consists essentially of a body portion 10 which may be constructed of any suitable material and may be of any desired size.

One extremity of the body 10 is bent upon itself to form a hook shaped portion 11, beneath which the tie 12 is adapted to be passed, thereby forming a guide for the tie.

The other extremity of the body 10 is also bent backwardly upon itself to form an upwardly projecting hook shaped portion 13, which extends along the face of the body portion 10 opposite to the face along which projecting shoulder portion 14 and adjacent this shoulder 14, the body portion 10 is cut out to form a depending lip or ear 15 which extends along the extremity 16 of the body' portion 10 parallel therewith and spaced therefrom.

In use the extremity 16 of the body portion 10, having the hook shaped portion 13, is passed through the button hole 17 of the collar from the rear by passing the extremity of the portion 13 through the button hole first and then raising the body portion 10 until the bottom of the hook shaped portion can be passed through the button hole. The device is then lowered until the shoulder 14 rests upon the bottom of the button hole 17 and the ear 15 projects along the back of the collar while the hook shape portion 13 extends along the front of the collar.

The neck tie 12 is-then placed within the downwardly opening guide formed by the hook shaped portion 11 and the collar is secured to the shirt by simply passing the hook shaped extremity 13 beneath the pocket or flap formed by the portion 19 on the band 20 of the shirt 21.

After the collar has been thus secured at the back, the front of the collar may be fastened and the tie 12 will be then vfree to slide through the device and also around the collar, by drawing the end of the tie. This is rendered possible because the tie will not be bound or held between the collar button and the back of the collar, when a turn down collar is used, nor will the tie be permitted to assume a position close up into the fold of the collar at the top thereof, but the tie will be held from rising by the guide.

Vith this improved construction it will be manifest that it is impossible for the tie to bind and will also be manifest that this device will be held against rising or falling with respect to the collar or from slipping out of its proper position with relation to the collar by means of the shoulder portion 14; and the lip or ear 15 coperating therewith, because the shoulder 14 will engage the sides of the button hole and the lip or ear 15 coperating with the portion 16 will prevent the device from slipping through the button hole.

What is claimed as new is:
