Description

(No Mode-1.)
G. SCHWARTZ.v
- SUSPENDBR BUGKLE. No. 449,951. Patented Apr. '7, 1891.
I ATTORNEY,
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES SCHWARTZ, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
SUSPENDER-BUCKLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 449,951, dated April 7,1891.
Application filed December 12, 1890. Serial No. 374,455. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be 1t known that 1, CHARLES SCHWARTZ, a
citizen of the United States, residing in the city and county of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Suspender-Buckles, which improvement is fully set forth in the following specification and accompanying drawings.
My invention consists in providing a suspender-buckle with apocket for holding a business or other card, picture, mirror, &c.
Figure 1 represents a front view of a suspender-buckle embodying my invention. Fig. 2 represents a vertical section thereof.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in the two figures.
Referring to the drawings, A designates a suspender-buckle which, excepting the feature of my invention applied thereto, is of usual construction.
B designates the locking tongue of the buckle, and O the loop for attachment of the tabs of the suspender.
. Connected with the frame of the buckle is a pocket D, which in the present case is open at the top, but which, as is evident, may be open at the sides or bottom, the object in either case being the provision in a suspender-buckle of a pocket or receptacle forming means for holding thereon abusiness or other card, a picture, mirror, 850., the same being readily removable and reapplicable through the mouth or opening of the pocket. The front of the pocket is cut away, producing a frame through which the card, picture, &c.,is displayed or seen. The bottom piece of the frame forms a bearing for the loop (3, which ishinged, pivoted, or otherwise axially mounted thereon.
Having thus described my invention, What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
A suspender-buckle having a guide for the strap, a tongue for securing said strap, an attaching device for the tab, and a frame with an open face forming a pocket, which is provided with an inlet at top and adapted to receive a card, the parts being combined substantially as described.
CHAS. SCHWARTZ.
