To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, EDWARD J. HowLEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Struthers, in the county of Mahoning and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Games, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to games and the primary object is to provide a game for providing an amusing and interesting pastime and at the same time, comprising means for teaching quickness and deftness of the hands.

The primary object of the invention is to provide a game board upon which a plurality of square blocks are arranged in an orderly manner and according to the rules hereinafter set forth; the game board also having a receptacle dispose in a pre-determined place and adapted to receive the blocks when they are picked up from the game board by the player and deposited in the box during the progress of the game.

The above and additional objects are accomplished by such means as are illustrated in the preferred embodiment and in the accompanying drawings, wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, in which Figure 1 is a plan view of the game showing the parts in position for playing.

1%eferring to the drawing, wherein is illustrated the preferred form of my invention, and in which like numerals of reference indicate corresponding parts throughout the several views, the game board is constructed of two containers 1 and 2 having the bottoms 3 and 4 upon which the game pieces are mounted for playing the game. Two of the side walls of the containers 1 and 2 are connected together by hinges 5 whereby the containers may be folded together when the game is not in use.

A plurality of squares 6 are marked upon each half of the game board and, as shown by Fig. 1 of the drawing, there are 16 of these squares on each half of the game board and the same are numbered in numerical order from 1 to 16. A plurality of square blocks 7 are adapted to be mounted upon the squares 6 and the blocks are perfectly symmetrical in formation so that they may be placed on the square 6 on any of their square faces. In each outside corner of each half of the game board is marked a larger square 8, thereby making two squares in each half of the game board. Two square elongated boxes 9 are employed to play the game and, when the game is being played by, righthanded persons, the boxes will be situated in the square in which they are shown in Fig. 1 of the drawing.

on playing the game, the players will place the game board between them and each player will play with the blocks upon the half of the game board which is directly in front of him. The set of blocks on one half of the game board is of a different color from the set in the other half and the box 9 is colored to correspond with the set with which it is used. The left hand of the player will grasp the box 9 holding it firmly in its square in the corner of the game board. The players will begin simultaneously to pick up the blocks from the game board and deposit the same, one at a time, in the box 9. The blocks must be removed from the game board in the order in which the squares are numbered and only one block must be removed at a time. The players continue picking up the blocks and depositing the same in the receptacle 9 until either one or the other has deposited all of the blocks on his half of the game board within the receptacle 9. The player whose blocks have been deposited first will be declared the winner.

From the foregoing it will be observed that a very simple and durable game has been provided, the details of which embody the preferred form. I desire it to be understood however, that slight changes in the minor details of construction may be made without departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope of the claims hereunto appended.

I claim:

A game comprising a rectangular game board including two separate containers having their proximate walls hingedly connected together whereby the containers may be folded together to close the game, the bottom of each container being provided adj acent the said hinged wall with a longitudinal row of ordinaled squares, a second shorter longitudinal row approximately midway between the outer Wall OfthQCOIltainer and'the said first mentionedlongitudinal row,'each outside corner of the c0ntainers having a square-marked =ofi l therein, and a receptacle adapted to be placed in either of the said squares in each container.
