BOTTLE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Mar. 2, 1915.
Application filed May 8, 1914. Serial No. 837,351.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY CREMER, a citizen of the United States, residing at 5817 Ridge avenue, Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented a new Bottle, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in a receptacle, manifested by a transverse partition provided with an upwardly directed sinuous passage, forming an upper compart ment, which has a top part or lid with an inwardly directed tubular extension or outlet.
The object of my improvement is to prevent fraudulent refilling of the receptacle. I attain this object by construction illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 is a vertical sectional view of the upper part of the bottle. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the transverse partition with sinuous passage; Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the top part w ith tubular passage or outlet.
Similar letters refer to similar parts throughout the several views.
The neck of the bottle shaped receptacle A Fig. 1 is provided on the interior thereof with seats or shoulders B to receive the partition C with sinuous passage D, Fig. 52, forming the upper compartment E. The rim F of top part Fig. 3 overlaps the edge of the upper compartment E to facilitate fastening. If the lower compartment or body portion A is filled, the partition C with sinuous passage D, Fig. 2, is to be inserted and fastened to seats B. The so formed upper compartment E is then to be covered by the top part Fig. 3, which is to be securely fastened to its place, and whose tubular inwardly extended outlet G, is to be closed up by suitable means, preferably cork. The receptacle filled and closed in this manner is to be emptied in the usual way. The opened bottle will, when tilted, allow the liquid to pass from the body portion or lower compartment A, through sinuous passage D, to enter upper compartment E, and will reach the outside by passing through the inwardly extended tubular outlet G of the top part, Fig. 3. By refilling the receptacle the fluid enters the upper compartment .through tubular passage Gr, and will rise above the mouth H and J respectively, practically closing the same and preventing the air to escape.
hat I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent is A bottle comprising a body portion, a neck portion provided in its interior near the body portion with a seat or shoulder; a transverse partition seated thereon, having a perforation communicating with the lower end of an upwardly directed sinuous passage; and a top portion consisting of a lid and a vertical downwardly directed tubular part, communicating at its upper end with an aperture in the lid and extending with its other end downward into the neck beneath the upper extremity or outlet of the sinuous H passage, which is partly contorted around the tubular part of the top portion.
