WITNESSES INVENTOR WW 6 Km 7% m";
THE NORRIS PETERS 60.; FHbTV-L ITHL. WASHINGTON. B C.
HENRY KUMPAN, OFBINGHAMT N, NEW YORK! rnousnns-s'rnn'rcnnn.
To all whom itmay concern Be it known that 1, HENRY KUMPAN, a subject of the Emperor of Austria-Hungary, residing at Binghamton, in the county of Broome and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Trousers-Stretchers, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
This invention relates to a trousers stretcher, and has for its object to provide a device of such class, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, which is capable of stretching trousers of difierent lengths and widths.
Further objects of the invention are to provide a trousers stretcher, whichis simple in its construction and arrangement, strong, durable, efficient and convenient in its use, readily set up, and inexpensive.
With the foregoingand other objects in view, the invention consists of the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts as hereinafter more specifically described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein is shown an embodiment of the invention, but it is to be understood that changes, variations and modifications can be resorted to which come within the scope of the claims hereunto appended.
In the drawings wherein like reference characters denote corresponding parts throughout the several views :Figure 1 is a side elevation of a trousers stretcher in accordance with this invention, Fig. 2 is a detail.
Referring to the drawings, 1 denotes a front stretcher bar which extends in the same plane throughout and has pivotally connected to its upper end as at 2, the section 3 of a supporting bar, the latter being formed of two sections and the other section thereof being indicated at 1.
The sections 3 and 4: extend through a supporting member 5. The latter adjustably connects the said sections 3 and 4: together and is provided with a hanger 5'. Clips 6 are employed for securing the top of the trouser to the sections 8, 4 of the supporting bar. The lower end of the front stretcher bar is pivotally connected as at 7 to the section 8 of an adjustable coupling bar. The later is formed of two sections and the other section thereof is indicated at 9. The device further includes a rear stretcher bar which consists of a rearwardly I curved upper portion 10 and a straight I Specification of Letters Patent. I Patented Jan, 12, 19.15 Application filed June 24, 1914. Serial No. 847,154. I
lower portion 11. The top of the upper portion 10 is'pivotally connected as at 12 to the section 41 of the supporting bar and the lower end ofthe straight portion 11 of the rear stretcher bar is pivotally connected as at 13 to the section 9 of the couplingbarz- The sections 8 and 9 of the coupling bar extend through a block 14, and are adjustably secured therewith by a set screw 15.,
Connected with the stretcher bars 1, 11, is an adjustable element for increasing or decreasing the width between said bars, and said element consists of a pair of oppositely extending links 16, 17, which have their inner ends pivotally connected as at 18 to the inner end of the link shifting member 19. The outer end of the link 16 is pivotally connected as at 20 to the bar land the outer end ofthe link 17 is pivotally connected as at 21 to the bar 11. The lower end of the member 19 extends through the block 14 and is provided with peripheral threads 22. J
A thumb nut 23 is mounted upon the threaded end of the member 19. I Adjustably mounted upon the bar 1 and the bar 11 is an adjustable spring clip 2& for securing the bottoms of thetrousers to said bars 1 and 11. i
What I claim is 1.. A trousers stretcher comprising a front stretcher bar extending in the same plane throughout, a rear stretcher bar havingits upper portion rearwardly curved and its lower portion extending in the same plane throughout," an adjustable supporting bar formed of a pair of sections pivotally connected to the upper ends of said front and rear stretcher bars, an adjustable coupling bar formed of a pair of sections pivotally connected to the lower ends of said front and rear stretcher bars, a block having the sections of said coupling bar extend therein, means for adjustably connecting the sections of said coupling bar to said block, an adjusting element for said front and rear stretcher bars pivotally connected therewith and extending through said block and having a. threaded lower end, a thumb nut carried by said threaded lower end, and a clamp for adjustably connecting together the sections of said supporting bar.
so i
A trousers stretcher comprising a front stretcher bar extending in the same plane throughout, a rear stretcher bar having its upper portion rearwardly curved and its lower portion extending in the same plane throughout, an adjustable supporting bar formed of a pair of sections pivotally connected to the upper ends of said front and rear stretcher bars, an adjustable coupling bar formed of a pair of sections pivotally connected to the lower ends of said front and rear stretcher bars, a block having the sections of said coupling bar extend therein,
means for adjustably connecting the sections of said coupling bar to said block, an adjusting element for said front and rear stretcher bars pivotally connected therewith and extending through said block and having a threaded lower end, a thumb nut carried by said threaded lower end, a supportingmember for adjustably connecting together the sections of said supporting bar, and spring clips adjustably mounted upon the lower portions of said front and rear stretcher bars;
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in the presence of two Witnesses.
