DISPLAY DEVICE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Nov. 17, 1914.
Be it known that we, CHARLES J. Fox and WALTER SCOTT, both citizens of the United States, residing at Providence, in the county of Providence and State of Rhode 1sland,have invented certain new and useful lniproye nents in Display Devices, of which thefolldyving is a'specification.
Our, invention relates to easel display cardsfor jewelry and has for its essential objects the provision of a means for displaying jewelry ina manner more conspicuous than that afforded by the ordinary nat jewelers card; to render the article collapsible so as to occupy a minimum space in packing and transportation; and to attain these ends in "a structure which is easy to manipulate, simple and inexpensive to construct, and'whicli may be formed from a single blank.
To the above. ends essentially our invention .consists in such parts and combinations of partsas fall within the scope of the appended. claim.
n the accompanying drawings which form-a part of-thisspecification, Figure 1 is a pl'anyiew'of a blank from which our display card is ultimately formed, Figs. 2, 3,
and-4, front, side, and rear elevations respectivelylof oureasel card, and Fig. 5, a section on line w, :z:, o f'Fig. 2". e
- Like reference characters indicate "like Oil-r card'or rack is formed from an ob-. long Blank,- of thin cardboard Afibllii out with oppositely disposed pointed projections a at an intermediate point in its length. Spaced from the projections-a and somewhat nearer the opposite'end of theblank are oppositely disposed pointed projections. 6. Near one o'penin" C formedby cutting'from the body of the 'lank ar'e'ctangular is left attached .to the stri itself at the end of the opening-as at d.- entrally disposed in the blank intermediatethe points a is an arched arcuateslit D", while near the end of j theblankopposlte that'eontaining the'flap 0 portion 0 which is a small arcuate slit E, forming a flap 6 located in alinement with said flap. This blank has a transverse bend intermediate. the points [Z as at E, and a transverse bend F eirtending from the points a to the ends of a slit D. A further transverse-bend G extends across the strip at'the end of the bend L. Located one above the other in'the center of the blank are curved transversery dis posed slits h. From this strip our display the lower end portion J of the blank forms I the base; the portion K between the bends F and G forms the leg; and the upper end portion L forms a foot adapted to slide intermediate the base J and the flap e. The
tongue G forms a brace adapted to bear against the body I, and maintain'the foot I in position beneath the flap 6.
Beneath the flaps m formed by the slits];
* respectively may be placed the shoes-of collar buttons, or the portions of the article.
' sought to be displayed upon the device; In
case Where the article to. be attached has a pin attachment, such as a brooch, or has a back not particularly adapted for engage,
ment in the slits h it will be understood that the slits or openings h may be circular and i may have substituted therefor slits k of cir- .'cular shape or other shape.
'What we claim is,- In a jew'elry display device, the-combina "tion'of a body, a rearwardly directed thee integral with the body, a flap upon the base,
a leg integral with the .body, a foot 'u,p on
the leg beneath the flap, and a brace upon the legadapted to bearagainst the body.
