To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Go'rrrnm PnRs soN, a citizen of the Unlted States, residing at useful Improvements in Coverlet-Holders of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to a new and useful coverlet holder, and its object is to provide a device that will serve to support a cover let or quilt at a slight elevation above a bed, so that the same will not have contact with anyperson occupying the bed, allowing him to repose in greater comfort.

Another object of my invention is to provide simple and convenient means for accomplishing a vertical adjustment of the coverlet holder, so that the space intervening between the coverlet and the occupant of the bed may be increased or diminished.

A still further object of the invention is to provide a device of the character described that will be strong, durable, efiicient and simple and comparatively inexpensive to produce, also one in which the several parts will'not be likely to get out of working order.

With the above and other objects in view, the invention has relation to certain novel features of construction and operation, an example of which is described in the following specification and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein:

Figure 1 is a View showing my coverlet holder in side elevation, together with a bed with which the device is correlated. Fig. 2 is a transverse vertical sectional view of the w-m of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a detail top view of a joint established between two of the parts of my invention. Fig. 4: is a view showing in side elevation a modified form of my invention. Fig. 5 is a transverse vertical sectional view taken upon the line g z of Fig. 1. Fig. 6 is an end view of the coverlet holder omitting certain yoke members forming a part thereof and omitting the bed. Fig. 7 is a detail sectional view taken upon the line z2 of Fig. 6. Fig. 8 is detail sectional view taken upon the line a-a of Fig. 6. Fig. 9 is a detail view showing a portion of one of the yokes which are embodied in my coverlet holder and which each carry several fastening devices for engaging the coverlet. Referring now more particularly to the drawings, wherein like reference characters designate similar parts in all the figures, the numerals 1 and 2 respectively designate the head. and foot of a bed, and 3 is the horizontal body portion of the bed, which exupon the line tends between the members 1 and 2. It is to rigid relation being maintained between the parts 4 and 6 by a set screw 7 Adjacent to the upper extremity of each rod 6, there is rigidly mounted a bracket 8, with which there is integrally formed a bifurcated upwardly extending arm 9. Above the bed comprised by the members 1, 2 and 3, and between the upper extremities of the rods 6, there is extended an elongated member 10 preferably of tubular construction, from the extremities of which there rigidly projectsrods 11 terminating in eyes 12 through which the upper ends of the rods 6 are passed. The rods 11 are each received between the furcations of the correlated member 9, and

are given a rigid relation with the members 9 by bolts 13 which are passed through the parts 9 and 11. Upon the memberlO, there are pivotally hung a plurality of triangular frames, each comprising parts 1 1, 15 and 16. Each member 1 1 is formed at its upper ex tremity with an eye receiving the member 10, and at its lower extremity is rigidly connected with the center of an elongated horizontal rod 15 mounted transversely of the bed, and extending the entire width of the 1 same. From the extremities of each member 15, there are extended inclined brace wires 16 to the upper end of the correlated member 14:. Each member 15 is formed with a plurality of equally spaced depending lugs 16*, through each of which there is passed a leather loop, 17, the extremities of which are connected by some suitable form of buckle, as for exam l that designated at 18. From each loo '17, there is swung a fastening device 19 comprisingtwo adjacent downwardly projecting portions one of which terminates in an open ring 20. Said portions as they extend downwardly will preferably diverge slightly from each other as is clearly illustrated in Fig. 9. Upon each member 19, there 1s loosely mounteda link 21 which through a downward d1splacezontal member 24 having arms 25 projecting rigidly from its end. Upon the free end of lar 26, which slidably engages the upper portion of the correlated standard 22.

In one of the collars 26,. there is mounted a set screw 27 which will serve to hold said collar rigid with the correlated standard in 1 the combination with a; pair of standards revarious positions of vertical adjustment. Upon the lower portion of the other standard 22 there is mounted fast a semi-circular bracket 28, having its extremities connected by an approximately diametrical bar 28*; Upon the member 28 there is centrally pivoted a lever 29,. with which there is intermediately pivotally connected the lower end of swlnging bar '30, having its upper extremity pivotally attached to the collar 2 mounted upon said standard 22. -By subjecting the lever .29 to an angular displacement about its pivoted end, it is apparent that the correlated collar 26 will be subjected to a vertical sliding displacement upon said standard 22. In

6.'In a device of the character described, the combination with an elongated horizontal member extending above a bed between the extremities thereof, of a plurality of elongated members mounted transversely of the bed and pivotally supported by the first specified elongated member, and a plurality of fastening devices carried by the transverse members.
