Be it known that I, WARREN A. SPALDING, of IVaterbnry, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new and Improved Toilet-Bottle, of which the following is a specification:
My invention relates to the construction of bottles for tooth-powders or other substances that are to be used with a brush 5 and it consists in providingl the bottle with a funnel-shaped trough or spout around the orifice which shall be capable of receiving` a brush upon which the powder is to be placed for use, so that the required quantitbv shall be taken upon the brush without wast i115` any or soiling,` the person or dress of the user.
Figure l is a side View of my improved bottle. Fig. 2 is a vertical section. Fig. 3 is a top view.
The bottle A is made with a trough, B, upon its neel; and surrounding;` the oriiice C, through which the powder issues. This trough is to receive the brush when powder is to be used on it, and is so made 'with inclined sides that brushes of diit'erent sizes may iit in it and prevent any powder from droppin g out around the brush wh en the bottle is inverted. The shape of the trough and its arrangement with regard to the bottle and its oriiice is clearly shown in the drawing'.
I claim- As a new and improved article of uiannfactnre, a toilet-bottle constructed with a cup or cavity, B, for a brush, upon which the powder is distributed for use, substantially as and for the purposes set forth and speciiied.
