Be it known that I, RALPH H. CHANDLER,

1 a citizen of the United States, residing at and use the same.

Norwalk, in the county7 of Huron and State of Ohio,have invented` certain new and useful Improvements in Necktie-Stretcl1ersg and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, land exact description of the invention, suchl as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make This invention relates to necktie stretchers, and one of the principal objects of the inventio-n is to provide a stretcher and hanger for four-in-hand scarfs and neckties which shall be simple in construction, inexpensive to manufacture and which will operate eiliciently for holding atie in smooth and eX- tended position until it is ready .for use.

-Another obj'ect of the invention is to provide a necktie stretcher and hanger which may be made of a single piece of spring wire bent into proper shape and adapted to bel inserted within the large end of the. tie for stretching the same and a device'of similar construction adapted vto be inserted in the small end of the tie, thus providing means for stretching the tielboth transversely and longitudinally thereof.

The foregoing and other objects may be attained by means of the-construction-illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which the figure is a perspective view of a necktie stretcher and, supporter for the larger end of a four-in-hand scarf or tie and made in accordance with this invention.

Referring to the drawing, a designates as an entirety the stretcher for the larger end .of a scarf or tie, and is made from a single piece of spring wire of the desired gage and resiliency, said stretcher comprising a straight member ll bent at 2 and a slightly divergent member 3. The member l is bent at right angles to form a 'keeper arm 4, and said arm is provided with ahook 5 bent to direct its ends toward the member l, while a series of similar hooks 6 have their bills or ends directed in the opposite direction and formed on the terminal end of the arm 4. The divergent member 3 at its upper end is bent at right angles as at 7, and extends Specification of Letters Patent.

From the foregoing it will be obvious that a necktie stretcher made in accordance with this invention may be manufactured at low cost, is easy to insert in a tie for stretching .the same, can be suspended upon a hook or nail, and is very efficient for its purpose.

Various changes may be made inthe details of construction without departing from the spirit and scope of theinvention as defined in the claim.

" What is claimed is z- A necktie stretcher comprising a straight member A having its lower end bent rearwardly and diverging outwardly from said straight member forming anoppositely disposed member, said outwardly disposed member bent at right angles at the upper end thereof and terminating approximately at a point in vertical alinement with the lower end of said outwardly disposed member, and having avertical handle formed thereon, said straight member bent at right angles at the upper end thereof, forming a j horizontally disposed keeper arm, a hook formed intermediate the ends of said horif zontally disposed keeper arm and the end bent downwardly therefrom `adapted to receive the outwardly disposed member when in a contracted position, a plurality of hooks `formedon said horizontally disposed keeper arm adjacent the outer end.
