To all whom 'it may concern:

Be it known that I, ETTA S. MOADAM, a citizen of the United States, residing at Drummond, in the county of Chippewa and State of Michigan, have invented new and useful Improvements in Photographic- Printing Frames, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to photographic printing frames, and more particularly to one wherein means will be provided whereby the frame will be adapted for photographic plates of various sizes, and an object of the invention resides particularly in the fact that the said means may be conveniently mounted in the frame or removed therefrom at the will of the operator.

The above mentioned and other objects are attained by the construction, combinations and arrangements of parts, as disclosed on the drawing, set forth in this specification, and particularly pointed out in the appended claim.

In the drawing, forming a portion of this specification and in which like numerals of reference indicate similar parts in, the several views: Figure 1 is a rear view of the printing frame with parts broken away to more clearly illustrate the invention. Fig. 2 is a detail section taken on the line 2-2 of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a view of the reducing member detached.

The frame consists of side bars 1 and 2 which are connected to each other by end bars 3. The said bars are rabbeted upon their inner faces to form a shoulder 4 upon which the photographic plate may be mounted, and upon which may also be mounted the rabbeted edge portion 5 of my improved removable plate supporting member 6. The frame is provided with the usual back member or compressing head 9 which is provided with spring means 10 adapted for engagement with the side bars of the frame so that aphotographic plate when placed in its operative position in the frame can be effectively retained therein.

The reducing member consists of a plurality of right angularly disposed arms 11 and 12, the outer edge portion of the arms 11 and 12 being formed with shoulders 13 adapted to engage the shoulder 4 of the frame bars. The inner edges of the arms 11 and 12 are provided with plate seats 14 and the terminals of said arms are provided with shoulders 13 which are adapted to engage the shoulders of the side bars 1 and 2 of the photographic frame.

I claim:

In combination with a photographic printing frame having side and end members formed with plate engaging shoulders, an attachment consisting of a plurality of right angular bars adapted to engage major portions of said shoulders and formed with shoulders on their inner edges adapted to engage a plate, said attachment when positioned on the shoulders serving to support a plate upon its shoulders and the shoulders of the frame not engaged thereby.
