To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Grocer; J. BUCKEYE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Kansas City, in the count-y of Jackson and State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combination-Locks and Circuit-Breakers, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in combination locks and circuit breakers, and embodies a combination of novel 'features hereinafter described, and particularly pointed out in the claims.
The primary object of-the device is to prevent unauthorized persons from closing the electric circuits of automobiles, so that they will be unable to operate an automobile provided wit-h my device.
'lhe device can be used to equal advantage on electricdriven, or gasolenedriven auto-mobiles, and in order that the invention may be fully understood, reference will now be made to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a front elevation of the device. Fig. 2 is a rear elevation of the device with a back plate'forming a. part thereof, removed to show the interior mechanism. 3 showsa group of tumblers employed in carrying out the invention; Fig. 4' is a vertical section on line IV-IV of Fig. 1, and Fig. 5 discloses one form of circuit to which my device is applicable.
Referring in detail to said circuit, 46 discloses a starting box; 30 and 31', the circuit breaker and its contact of my device, said contact being connected to the starting box bya wire 49 and 50, a circuit breaker and its contact, controlled by a cam on the engine shaft; 43 a wire connecting the contacts 31 and 45 a magneto; 41 a wire connecting the circuit breaker 49, with said'ma neto' 47 a batte 44 a wire connecting battery 47 and wire 41; 48 a manual switch; 41 and 44, contacts atthe free terv cular flange 11, and a stem 12. Flange 11 16a minals of wires 41 and 44, respectively; 'and 51, a push button for controlling communication between Wires 41 and 43. The operation is substantially as follows: When the parts are in the position shown on Fig. 5, impulses may be transmitted to the spark plug of the engine (not shown) by throwing switch 48 into engagement with; contact 44. This will establish a circuit from Specification of Letters Patent.

' In constructing the look, I employ a cylindrical casing 1, having an integral face 2, and a removable back-plate 3 normally held in position by two screws 4, the heads of which are countersunk in the back plate, as shown by dotted lines, Fig. 4. The inner sides of easing 1 and back plate 3 are pro tected by insulations 5 and 6, to preventshort circuit-ing of the current hereinafter referred to. Back plate 3 is provided with a pair of stud-bolts 7, adapted to extend through the dash-board of an automobile (not shown) and be secured by nuts 8, which may be hidden by the engine-hood of the automobile. By thus hiding nuts 8, itwill be exceedingly difiicult for unauthorized persons to locate the same, and as screws 4 can not be removed from the backplate until the device is taken from the dash-board, access can not be had to the inso terior of the casing containing the tin elock and circuit breaker mechanism.
Face 2 of easing 1 is provided with a concentric annular dial 9, which is countersunk in said face and consists, preferably, of celluloid; or other light-colored material, so that the black graduations thereon can be readily distinguished.

In the drawing the circuit-breaker is shown closed. VVhen it is desired to open the circuit-breaker tumbler 19 is turned until its higlrradius 28 passes beneath teeth 3'? and aises the same out of the notches and 26 of the tumblers 22 and 25, respec ivoly.

Having thus described my invention,
I claim and desire to secure by Letters cnt is:
1. In combination a'device of the eharacter described consisting of a casing, a circuit-breaker therein comprising a stationary arm and a movable-arm said movable arm comprising two sections L i by non ducting material, one of said sections having a tooth, tumblers to control 5 id movable arm and means for actuating said tumblers.
2. In combination, a device consisting of a casing, a circuit interrupter therein comprising a stationary contact and a, pivoted arm carryin a cooperating contact, said arm being provi ed with a tooth, and permutation tumblers mounted in said casing to co act With said tooth to control the movement of said arm.
