Abstract
A method for predicting fracture healing comprises clinical examination, radiography. The method further provides for detection of genetic polymorphism of nitric oxide synthase (eNOS T 786) and measurement of interleukine-6 (IL-6) and C-terminal propeptide of collagen type I concentration. The fracture healing may be predicted if homozygous carrier status of 786-TT are revealed and the level of IL-6 is 3.3-8.8 ng/l and that of CICP is 102-108 ng/ml.
