A method for decoppering from iron-carbon melt comprises the smelting of metal charge, formation of sulfide slag on surface obtained melt with forming of sulfides in melt, subsequent separation of melt and sulfide slag, at that dispersed refractory material is introduced into melt before separation of melt and sulfide slag, and density of dispersed refractory material is less than melt density, but exceed sulfides density, and smelting temperature exceed melt temperature. Technical result: reduction of total cycle time of refinement due to reduction of melt keeping under sulfide slag, and also more complete separation of melt phases.
