A method for treating the rheumatoid arthritis with the severe course comprises provides for the background treatment (basic therapy, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents, glucocorticoids) supplemented with Spironolacton used as aldosteron blocker at a daily dose of 25-50 mg for 12 months resulting in decreasing the severity of the disease and reducing the erosion in the joints.
