Abstract

The method for treating the neuralgia of the facial nerve comprises the electric therapy as well as the transcutaneous laser therapy employing the helium-neon laser. The electric therapy comprises the application of the direct current onto the backbone area. The laser therapy is performed daily in the scanning mode at the output of 10-15 mW. The cervical-and-alveolar region is exposed paravertebrally by the segments for 10-20 minutes. The therapy with the running magnetic field is also applied paravertebrally within the cervical-and-alveolar region. The auriculopuncture is performed using the biologically active points 5, 6, 8, 11, 33, 34, 35, 55, 84 of the auricle. The 10-25 oA current of the negative polarity is employed for such an exposure in the pulse mode for 2-4 minutes for each point covering 3-5 points during each exposure. The course of the treatment usually comprises 4-5 seances of the intravenous laser therapy taken each other day at the output of 1.5-2 mW for 10-20 minutes depending on the age of the patient and the arterial pressure values. The pulse magnetic therapy at the rate of 20 pulses per minute is performed at the magnetic intensity 0.4 T for 6 minutes from each side at T14 level of the posterior-medial meridian. The overall course of the treatment comprises 10-15 seances, with their duration up to 40-60 minutes each.
