Description
本發明係關於一種能夠強化有機及/或無機材料的纖維束(或纖維),且也關於所得經強化的產物(或複合材料),此等強化纖維束和此等複合材料都具有改良的耐火性。本發明也關於用於塗覆此等纖維束的組成物且關於製造此等纖維束的方法。
本發明特別地關於玻璃強化纖維束,其可經由將從一或多個套筒的基底中之孔流出的熔融玻璃流,於高速(高達每秒數十公尺)下予以機械地縮減(attenuating)而得。此等纖維束係經縮減形成絲狀物,將該絲狀物在其經組合成纖維束之前,用一組成物,稱為漿料組成物,特別係打算用於保護纖維束抵抗磨損者,予以塗覆,用於促成該纖維束與要強化的基質(一或多個有機材料及/或一或多個無機材料)結合,等。
雖然玻璃纖維束擁有顯著的性質(此係於製成的複合材料產物中發現者),不過,彼等具有在有關此等複合材料的耐火性上之負面影響,可能促進在該複合材料內的火焰擴散。摻入基質內的習用阻燃劑不能真正地消除此種影響,係因為於此情況中所達到的耐火性值仍然為不足者,尤其是在於沒有強化纖維束時該值係低於所達到的水平。
本發明的目的為解決此問題且經發現於漿料組成物中添加一種其本身不一定被認為是一種阻燃劑但於所製複合材料內的纖維束/基質介面處有作用,因而延緩燃燒或加速自熄之成分,可以改良該複合材料的耐火性且無論如何不會減弱該強化纖維束的性質(特別地其機械性質)或其加工。
本發明的第一項目的因而為一種組成物,特別者一種漿料組成物,用於塗覆強化纖維束,特別是玻璃纖維束,該組成物的特徵在於其包括至少一種能夠在纖維束/基質介面作用之添加劑以改良該強化纖維束/基質複合材料的耐火性,尤其是經由延緩燃燒或加速自熄,不會由此損及該複合材料的機械性質或該纖維束的加工。
延緩燃燒及/或加速自熄係由基本上在纖維束/基質介面發生的至少一現象且較佳地導致該介面的熱傳輸減低,尤其係經由碳層形成,所致結果;該添加劑為例如一種碳施體或有氧化劑之作用,其可切斷在介面處的基質鏈且促進交聯,或可與基質的阻燃劑交互作用,等,不受有關此等各種可能作用方式的任何一種理論所束縛。
能夠改質該纖維束/基質介面以改良該強化纖維束/基質複合材料的耐火性(不會由此損及該加工的機械性質)之添加劑或多種添加劑可特別地選自:-硝酸鹽,例如硝酸鉀(KNO3
)或硝酸胍;-醇類及其衍生物,例如季戊四醇及其衍生物,特別者二季戊四醇、三季戊四醇、乙氧基化季戊四醇、丙氧基化季戊四醇、乙氧基化/丙氧基化季戊四醇或山梨醇(或D-葡萄糖醇);及磷衍生物或磷酸衍生物、有機磷化合物、環酯磷酸鹽或有機次膦酸鹽,例如多聚磷酸銨、磷酸胍、1,2,3-二氧雜磷雜環己烷(1,2,3-dioxaphosphorinane)或焦磷酸銨。
此等一或多種添加劑較佳地係選自硝酸鉀(KNO3
)或硝酸胍(較佳的硝酸鹽為硝酸鉀)之中,及/或山梨醇或季戊四醇衍生物類型的醇類(及其衍生物),較佳者(於強化纖維束要裁切或斬碎之時更顯著)選自乙氧基化季戊四醇,丙氧基化季戊四醇,乙氧基化/丙氧基化季戊四醇,和山梨醇之中,且特別較佳者為選自乙氧基化季戊四醇和山梨醇之中。
根據本發明選擇的添加劑通常不會形成傳統上經分類為阻燃劑之產品部份,且於將彼等,特別者單獨地且以相同比率地,摻加到基質本身之內而非在纖維束之上時,不具有例如抗火效應。如上面指出者,彼等的作用基本上係施發在纖維束/基質介面(特別是在漿料/纖維束及/或漿料/基質介面),該(等)化合物可能,於恰當處,在該介面,與該基質及/或該基質的阻燃劑及/或與漿料的其他成分交互作用。
必須提及者,本發明組成物有利地係不包含紅磷,氧化銻或鹵素化合物,後述者更對環境有害。
較佳者,根據本發明能夠改質纖維束/基質介面的該(等)添加劑係可溶於、可分散於或可乳化於水及/或組成物(的其餘成分)之中。由於本發明組成物通常為水性組成物,因此於此情況中,組成物的固體含量較佳者係在組成物的1與20重量%之間(組成物包含80與99重量%之間的水),尤其是在2與10重量%之間。於其他具體實例中,本發明組成物可不包含水或可包括其他溶劑。
根據本發明能夠改質纖維束/基質介面的該(等)添加劑之含量通常係介於該組成物固體含量的1與60重量%之間且較佳者在2與40重量%之間。
該組成物(較佳者漿料組成物)也可包含至少一種偶合劑,通常為用於將強化用纖維束(特別玻璃纖維束)偶合到要強化的基質者。此等偶合劑可特別為選自矽烷類、鈦酸酯類和鋯酸酯類,且較佳者為選自矽烷類(特別是選自胺基矽烷類、環氧基矽烷類等)。該偶合劑的含量較佳者為組成物固體含量的1與50重量%之間,有利者為2與20重量%之間且特別較佳者在5與15重量%之間。
該組成物也可包含至少一種至少一種黏合劑,此藥劑通常係作用在纖維束的加工性上(韌度、絲間黏聚性、等)且為選自例如聚胺基甲酸酯,環氧樹脂,丙烯酸系共聚物,聚醋酸乙烯基酯及聚烯烴乳液,黏合劑(膜形成劑)的含量視情況(於含有彼(等)之時)而定可為組成物固體含量的10與90重量%之間且較佳者在20與80重量%之間。較佳者,該組成物包括能夠將本發明添加劑固定到纖維束表面使得其保留在纖維束/基質介面的至少一種黏合劑,此等膜形成劑有利地係呈聚胺基甲酸酯形式且經特別地選擇以少溶於基質內或不會過度地擴散到介面。其可為例如預期在將組成物沉積在纖維束之後(例如在乾燥操作中)交聯的聚胺基甲酸酯,此聚胺基甲酸酯係可自我交聯者(特別是在實際聚合物鏈中具有能夠交聯的官能基,例如異氰酸酯基者)或經摻合著交聯劑(相當於例如聚胺基甲酸酯/交聯劑摻合物的約2至50重量%),諸如聚異氰酸酯或聚碳化二醯亞胺,此等交聯性官能基可用封端劑予以封端(其後可經由例如熱處理予以解封),諸如己內醯胺或丁酮肟。
於恰當情況中,可以使用數種不同的黏合用膜形成劑(特別是聚胺基甲酸酯)或只使用一種可以滿足數種功能的黏合劑。例如,可以使用至少一種黏合劑,尤其是可以促進良好機械性質(及/或,於恰當情況中,促成添加劑,與可能的其他成分,在纖維束上的維持,如上所述者),以及隨意地至少一種能夠保護強化纖維束及/或使其更容易加工之其他黏合劑。
最後,本發明組成物(特別者漿料組成物)可包含至少一種其他的標準藥劑(通常高達其固體量的20重量%),此藥劑為例如選自潤滑劑(例如乙氧基化脂肪醇酯)、乳化劑或界面活性劑(例如,含有20莫耳環氧乙烷的硬脂醇)、抗靜電劑、消泡劑、濕潤劑、紡織藥劑、等。
如上提及者,該組成物通常包括至少一種溶劑,尤其是水。於恰當情況中,某些活性成分可以在將彼等添加到要形成組成物的混合物之過程中就已經溶解或分散在溶劑之內,及/或可在活性成分之後將溶劑加到混合物中以獲得用於通常於沉積在絲上所需的黏度和比例。
一種較佳的本發明漿料組成物具有例如下面的組成:
本發明也有關一種強化纖維束(有利者玻璃纖維束),其經以上述組成物塗覆過,該纖維束可為多種形式,諸如連續纖維束、切短纖維束、辮帶、帶、蓆、等。
所沉積的組成物之含量(或燃燒減量)有利者為纖維束的0.1至3重量%,較佳者為0.2至1.5重量%。
本發明組成物可以在一或多道步驟中沉積在絲(要形成纖維束的絲)上及/或在強化用纖維束之上。從纖維束所得複合材料通常包含至少一種有機材料和強化用纖維束,其中至少某些強化用纖維束為本發明纖維束。
本發明的一項目的也為一種製造用本發明組成物塗覆過的玻璃纖維束之方法,其中係將從一或多個模頭(或套筒)的基底中之複數個孔流出的複數條熔融玻璃纖維束(以數米/秒或數十米/秒的速度)抽(或縮減)成一或多片的連續絲(通常具有在5與24微米之間的直徑)且隨後將該絲組合成收集在移動支架上的一或更多纖維束,該方法包括在該等絲經抽出之時及將該等絲組合成一或更多纖維束之前,在該等絲的表面上沉積至少某些本發明漿料組成物,該纖維束,於適當情況下,係最晚在收集纖維束之中,以完全組成物塗覆。
該等纖維束可用多種方式收集。特別者,彼等可經切短,此舉可在抽拉彼等所用的裝置予以形成之後,或於後續操作之中進行;或者可以將彼等捲繞在轉動的支架上(以形成捲繞物(例如,粗紗、管紗、絲餅、等),或者可將彼等分配在移動的輸送機之上(以形成例如蓆或面紗)。於適當情況下,可將纖維束乾燥(例如以紅外輻射、熱空氣、高頻、等),因為水可能損及纖維束與要強化的材料之間的良好黏著性之故,及/或可將彼等熱處理(於可能到例如高達200℃的溫度下)以促成,於適當情況下,所有或部份的漿料之固化及/或交聯。
必須提及者,在本發明中,術語“玻璃纖維束”據了解係意指以玻璃為基底的纖維束,也就是說不僅是從玻璃絲形成的纖維束,而且也是從玻璃絲和有機絲,尤其是熱塑料絲,兩者形成的纖維束。於後述情況中,在玻璃絲的縮減之中有機絲係經擠壓出且與彼同時夾帶出(或者,有機纖維束,來自例如包裝物,係同時供給者),該玻璃絲和有機絲(或纖維束)所行進的途徑在該等絲組合成至少一經機械地夾帶的複合材料纖維束之前係彼此會合者。
本發明目的也為一種複合材料,其包含至少一種有機材料和至少上面所定義的纖維束。
該有機材料有利地為熱塑性者,尤其是選自聚對苯二甲酸丁二酯(PBT)、聚對苯二甲酸乙二酯(PET)、聚烯烴、聚縮醛、聚碳酸酯、等。
要徑由模塑得到複合材料所用的可模塑基質組成物也可包含(除了要強化的材料和強化用纖維束以外)至少一種阻燃劑(例如氰尿酸鹽,諸如氰尿酸三聚氰胺鹽及/或有機磷化合物諸如焦磷酸三聚氰胺鹽)及/或可特別地包含可提供複合材料良好機械強度及/或尺寸穩定性之填充料(例如包含雲母、滑石、等類型的礦物質填充料)。
本發明可模塑基質組成物可以有利地具有下面的組成:-20至95重量%的有機材料;-1至60重量%(尤其是5至40重量%且較佳者10至30重量%)的至少一種阻燃劑;-1至60重量%(較佳者10至40重量%)的本發明上漿纖維束;及-0至50重量%的無機/礦物質填充料。
下面的實施例係用以示範說明本發明,不過不是用以限制其範圍。
經由將各成分在水中混合而製備出具有下面的組成之漿料組成物。
玻璃纖維束係經由從套筒抽拉熔融玻璃絲而製造者,在將絲組合成為纖維束之前,沉積上述漿料組成物。
然後在套筒下方直接斬切所得纖維束且製備出具有下面的組成之可模素組成物:
然後從上面的可模素組成物經由擠壓接著射出成型而得複合材料模塑部件。
之後進行下列檢驗:LOI檢驗(根據ISO 4589-2/1996F標準);Epiradiateur檢驗(根據NFP 92-505標準)與錐形量熱器(cone calorimeter)檢驗(根據ASTM E1354標準)。該等檢驗係對根據本實施例所製樣品進行(下面的“纖維(KNO3
)”結果)及對經由用具有相同組成但沒有KNO3
的漿料上漿過的纖維束取代本發明纖維束所製得之比較用樣品進行(下面的“對照纖維”結果)。結果都給於下表中。
LOI檢驗包括測定可促成材料燃燒一所給時間(180秒鐘)與超過一長度(50毫米)的在氧氣/氮氣混合物中的氧氣濃度。此檢驗的結果顯示在本發明產品的情況中更難以維持燃燒。同樣地,在Epiradiateur檢驗的情況中,明顯可看出對於本發明產品需要遠較為長的時間來著火且此等產品遠更為迅速地熄滅。最後,錐形量熱器檢驗顯示在本發明產品的情況中燃燒所釋放出的能量遠較為低。
此外,必須提及者,在下表中,此等改良無損於複合材料的機械性質,無論是實施例纖維束或比較用纖維束,所得機械性質的值(根據ISO 527-2標準所得張力強度值與根據ISO 179-1標準所得夏皮衝擊強度值(Charpy impact strength))都在相同級次:
根據本發明的強化用纖維束和所製成的複合材料產品可以用於多種應用中,例如連接器、電器和電子封裝的製造中,等。
Claims (14)
- 一種經漿料組成物塗覆之強化用纖維束,其特徵為該漿料組成物包括:至少一種膜形成黏合劑;至少一種偶合劑;及至少一種添加劑,其係選自:硝酸鹽;醇,其選自三季戊四醇、乙氧基化季戊四醇、丙氧基化季戊四醇、乙氧基化/丙氧基化季戊四醇、或山梨醇;及磷衍生物或磷酸衍生物、有機磷化合物、環酯磷酸鹽或有機次膦酸鹽。
- 根據申請專利範圍第1項之強化用纖維束,其中該至少一種添加劑係選自:硝酸鉀(KNO3 )或硝酸胍;及多磷酸銨、磷酸胍、1,2,3-二氧雜磷雜環己烷(1,2,3-dioxaphosphorinane)或焦磷酸銨。
- 根據申請專利範圍第1和2項中任一項之強化用纖維束,其中該漿料組成物不包含紅磷、氧化銻或鹵素化合物。
- 根據申請專利範圍第1和2項中任一項之強化用纖維束,其中該至少一種偶合劑包含選自胺基矽烷或環氧基矽烷之有機矽烷。
- 根據申請專利範圍第1和2項中任一項之強化用纖 維束,其中該至少一種膜形成黏合劑係選自聚胺基甲酸酯、環氧樹脂、丙烯酸系共聚物、聚醋酸乙烯酯或聚烯烴乳液。
- 根據申請專利範圍第1和2項中任一項之強化用纖維束,其中該漿料組成物包括至少一種聚胺基甲酸酯膜形成黏合劑。
- 根據申請專利範圍第1和2項中任一項之強化用纖維束,其中該漿料組成物包括至少兩種不同的聚胺基甲酸酯膜形成黏合劑。
- 根據申請專利範圍第1和2項中任一項之強化用纖維束,其中基於該漿料組成物之固體含量,該漿料組成物具有下列組成:1至50重量%選自有機矽烷之至少一種偶合劑;10至90重量%選自聚胺基甲酸酯之至少一種膜形成黏合劑;1至60重量%硝酸鉀(KNO3 )添加劑;及0至20重量%至少一種潤滑劑。
