Abstract
The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for obtaining pure water, preferably to be carried out in a transportable apparatus which is suitable for connection to a water tap of a domestic water supply, with raw water being heated to an evaporation temperature at a given pressure. The heating is performed with distribution of the raw water in different pressure stage, and, with the exception of the highest pressure stage, steam from a higher pressure previous stage is used as heat transfer medium for evaporation of the raw water in a subsequent, lower pressure stage. Alternatively, the resulting steam is compressed, and the compressed steam is used to heat and evaporate the raw water. The heating for evaporation and the condensation of the generated steam can also be carried out by means of a heat transfer medium which flows in a closed circuit, so as to conduct a heat pumping process.
