Abstract

FIELD: railway transport; car and locomotive coupling devices. SUBSTANCE: in coupling lock 1 and lock holder 2 engage with lock or smaller tooth of housing of other coupler which displace lock 1 into housing and turn lock holder 2 on pin 12. Displacement of lock takes place earlier than turning of lock holder. Release arm 14 of safety device engages simultaneously with lock holder counterweight 10, and its locking arm 13 does not prevent movement of lock. At the end of coupling process relative displacement of automatic couplers takes place to relieve the locks from pressure. Spring 6 returns lock in initial position. Locking arm 13 of safety device 3 lies under gravity on lock so that lock holder, with automatic couplers engaged, is turned and does not engage through counterweight 10 with release arm 14 of safety device. In this position safety device precludes spontaneous displacement of lock into housing and thus prevents self-uncoupling. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of automatic coupler. 3 dwg
