Abstract

FIELD: electrolytic production of inorganic chemicals. SUBSTANCE: composition containing carnallite, sodium, and potassium chlorides is prepared by evaporation of initial magnesium chloride solution, treatment of solution with calcium chloride followed by separating calcium sulfate, two-step evaporation of solution obtained with intermediately settling it at 80-100 C, mixing of the solution obtained in the 2nd evaporation step with potassium chloride and worked out electrolyte from magnesium production, crystallization, concentration of the thus obtained salt suspension, and final separation of the target product from mother carnallite solution. In order to increase purity of salt composition obtained in the 1st step of evaporation and subsequent settling, solution is combined with mother carnallite solution in amount providing calcium chloride concentration in the resultant mixture 2.7-5.0 wt %. Thereafter mixture is settled at 30-50 C and, separated from sediment, and further evaporated. Another improvement consists in that weight ratio of sodium chloride to potassium chloride in the salt suspension to be concentrated is 0.35 to 0.55. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of procedure.
