Abstract

FIELD: metallurgy, namely compositions of slag-forming mixtures to be used for at continuous steel casting. SUBSTANCE: slag-forming mixture contains (mass.%): amorphous graphite 10-20; lime 20-30; dust-like waste of ferrocilicon production 30-40 and dust-like waste of aluminium production 20-30. Such mixture has low melting temperature 1180-1190 C; slag melt of such mixture has low viscosity 0.05-0.06 Pa.s. Such properties allow to receive continuously cast billets with enhanced quality of their surface. Quantity of rejected billets with defects such as small-size slag inclusions is no more than 0.11-0.21%. Separation of fluorine compounds upon using such mixture is insignificant as fluorine contained in dust-like waste of aluminium production is in the form of compounds with aluminium, potassium, sodium, had been melt at electrolysis of aluminium. Cost price of mixture is rather small as it contains significant quantity of production waste. EFFECT: enhanced quality of surface of billets, lowered cost price of mixture, ameliorated sanitary labor conditions. 1 cl, 3 dwg
