Abstract

FIELD: manufacture of building materials. SUBSTANCE: when manufacturing mineral wool, in order to utilize metal inclusions in slag, inclusions are mixed with calcium sulfate phosphosemihydrate at ratio (3-4):1, resultant mixture is filled with water until humidity 3.5-4.0% is achieved. Wet mixture is then briquetted under specific pressing stress 80-150 MPa, left to stay under natural conditions for 8-12 h, added to blend, and melted in cupola. Method allows one to reduce price cost owing to waste utilization, and increase output to 1910-2140 kg/h. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of mineral wool manufacture. 13 tbl
