Abstract

Mineral carbonates, calcium carbonate minerals and magnesium carbonate minerals are enriched by means of foam flotation. Quaternary ammonium compounds in combination with etheramines are used as a generic reagent for silicon-containing gangue (dyke rocks), silicon dioxide and silicates. According to the process, good degrees of separation are achieved by using comparatively low quantities of the generic reagent. A composition for carrying out the process consists of a combination of quaternary ammonium compounds and at least 1% by weight of the etheramine combination.
