Abstract

A frame member for forming heat-insulated door frames, or window frames consists of a hollow aluminium profile section (2) which forms the facade side and which is a support for all the mechanically loaded mountings. and anchorages, and of an essentially non-load-bearing plastic profile (3) forming the room side and connected to the hollow aluminium profile (2) by parts, such as grooves and strips, engaging into or behind one another. Heat insulation and retention of the profiles against one another is obtained by filling with a plastic foam (8), the foam filling, supported on the two profiles (3 and 2) retains the latter and secures them together. The foam filling engages between or behind the connecting parts of the two profiles (3) and (2). <IMAGE>
