Abstract

The double glazing conversion frame (1) has an off-central web (2) with two flanges (3), each finished at both ends by inwardly protruding wings (4), to form two channels (5a, b) of unequal size. The inner channel (5a), which is the deeper, carries a neoprene joint (6) which holds the double glazing glass pane (7). A thermal and soundproof seal is provided by an elongation (10) to the neoprene joint, having a hollow deformable section (8) which rests between the original window frame (9) and the new frame. Spring clips (11) are screwed to the original frame and hold the new frame firmly agains the deformed seal.
