Abstract

The present invention relates to a paper or paperboard comprising a first coating layer formed by extrusion coating of a furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA) based resin, wherein the FDCA based resin comprises at least 50 % by weight of a FDCA based polymer having an intrinsic viscosity of less than 0.9 dl/g, preferably between 0.5-0.9 dl/g, as determined according to ISO 1628 and the FDCA based polymer has a melting temperature above 210 °C determined by differential scanning calorimetry according to standard ASTM D3418-21. The invention also relates to an ovenable package and a method for coating said paper or paperboard.
