Abstract

FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: method involves replacement of defective bone and soft tissues in the orbital area with a carbon felt implant with concurrent formation of a standard size stump. The automucous cavity plasty is performed after a period of six months on the front surface of the stump and back surface of the eyelids. EFFECT: higher treatment efficacy; less probable relapse.

Claims (1)

The invention relates to ophthalmology and is intended for plastic and reconstructive operations in the formation of a cavity for the main prosthesis by transplantation of autosucous. The essence of the invention: the method of forming a cavity for an ophthalmic prosthesis with an autosucous membrane is characterized in that, in order to increase the effectiveness of treatment and reduce complications (reduce the likelihood of relapse), defects in the bone and soft tissues of the orbital region are replaced with an implant of carbon felt with the formation of a standard size stump, and Autosmucous cavity plastic surgery is performed after 6 months on the anterior surface of the stump and the posterior surface of the eyelids. Using the proposed method of forming a cavity for an ocular prosthesis significantly increases the effectiveness of treatment and cosmetic rehabilitation of patients with a pronounced reduction in the cavity in combination with deformation of the bone and soft tissues of the orbit. The likelihood of a recurrence of shortening of the cavity and the need for repeated surgical interventions are reduced. Based on our clinical observations, we consider it reasonable to introduce the above method into practice.
