Abstract

FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, compositions of heat-insulating mixtures used for bottom gate steel casting in particular. SUBSTANCE: heat-insulating mixture favours significant decrease of liquation of carbon in ingot head pert metal with simultaneous decrease of ingot head cutting. For the purpose heat-insulating mixture has distended perlite, technical carbon under following ratio of ingredients, mass % : distended perlite 70- 85; technical carbon 15 - 30. EFFECT: improved process.

Claims (1)

15-30.The invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, and in particular to compositions of heat-insulating mixtures used for siphon casting of steel. The heat-insulating mixture contributes to a significant decrease in carbon segregation in the metal of the head of the ingot while reducing the head edge of the ingot. For this, the heat-insulating mixture contains expanded perlite, carbon black in the following ratio of ingredients, wt.%: Expanded perlite 70-85; carbon black 15-30.
