Берут, например, 45 кг глины (используемой в производстве черепицы, подлежащей глазурованию), 7 кг кварцевого песка (промытого и высушенного), 2,5 кг мела, 11 кг окиси железа, 7 кг пиролюзита, 27,5 кг боя (отходов, брака) керамических изделий (черепицы). Для приготовления глазури может быть использован бой любых керамических изделий (кирпича, санитарно-технических изделий, плитки и т.д.). Компоненты подвергают помолу до полного прохождения через сетку 008. Подготавливают глазурную суспензию с влажностью 45-47%.
