A method for the differential diagnosis of iodine-deficient or iodine-induced thyroid dysfunction and risk assessment of hormone-forming dysfunction directly in the thyroid gland, which consists in conducting an ultrasound examination (ultrasound) of the thyroid gland, determining the level of thyroid stimulating pituitary hormone (TSH) in the blood and the level of the hormone free thyroxin C. T 4 produced directly in the thyroid gland, is carried out X-ray computed tomography (CT) was determined with thyroid by lowering its tissue density in Hounsfield units (Hounsfield or HU), determine the intensity of the light image of the thyroid tissue under the influence of x-ray radiation in comparison with the standard, evaluate the density of the thyroid gland and evaluate the state of the thyroid gland based on the obtained ultrasound data, the level of hormones in the blood TSH, free thyroxine, Hounsfield density units (Hounsfield or HU), establishing the presence of iodine and hormonal deficiency or an excess of iodine, as well as thyroid hormones n directly in the thyroid gland, and with iodine deficiency - the density of the thyroid gland is up to 85 units of HU and lower, with an excessive intake of iodine - the density of the thyroid gland is 140 units of HU and higher.
