Способ очистки сточных вод, включающий механическую очистку сточных вод с последующей биологической очисткой в аэротенке, отличающийся тем, что сточную воду, содержащую большое количество органических загрязнений, подвергают первичному отстаиванию для удаления взвешенных веществ, очищают в аэротенке I ступени, где сточную воду аэрируют в течение 1,076 суток, и при этом поддерживают дозу активного ила в количестве 3,4 г/л; затем подают сточную воду в отстойник, где удаляют часть активного ила, затем сточную воду аналогично очищают в аэротенке II ступени, где сточную воду аэрируют в течение 0,58 суток и поддерживают дозу активного ила 2,04 г/л, после чего сточную воду подают в отстойник для удаления активного ила.
