Abstract

The impact cutter has an impact rotor (1) on a horizontal shaft and with peripheral filter grills (2) and hammers (3) mounted alternately on it. A part of the periphery is free for the flow of chippings. The rotor is mounted in a casing with supports for the chippings. At least one of the filter sections is pivotable parallel to the rotor axis and at least one of the hammers is movable parallel to the rotor axis.
