DONDE EL PROCESO COMPRENDE: TRANSFORMAR EL GAS DE PARTIDA QUE CONTIENE DIOXIDO DE AZUFRE POR LO MENOS PARCIALMENTE A TRIOXIDO DE AZUFRE, EN UN MINIMO DE DOS ETAPAS SECUENCIALES DE CONTACTOS PRINCIPALES; Y, CONDUCIR EL GAS PRODUCIDO QUE CONTIENE TRIOXIDO DE AZUFRE A UN ABSORBEDOR Y TRANSFORMARLO A ACIDO SULFURICO; DONDE DESDE UNA ETAPA DE CONTACTO PRECEDENTE A LA ULTIMA ETAPA DEL CONTACTO PRINCIPAL, UN FLUJO PARCIAL DEL GAS QUE CONTIENE DIOXIDO Y TRIOXIDO DE AZUFRE ES REMOVIDO Y MEZCLADO CON GAS DE PARTIDA HASTA OBTENER UN GAS CON CONTENIDO DE DIOXIDO DE AZUFRE DE MAS DE 13% EN VOLUMEN Y LLEVADO A UNA PRIMERA ETAPA DE CONTACTO, PREVIO ENFRIAMIENTO A MENOS DE 500°C.
