Description
Claims (15)
- 적어도 한쪽이 투명한 한쌍의 기판과, 상기 양 기판 사이에 협지된 물질층과, 상기 양 기판의 대향면에 각각 형성된 배향막을 구비하고, 상기 물질층에 외장을 인가함으로써 표시를 행하는 표시 소자로서,상기 물질층은, 외장을 인가함으로써 광학적 이방성의 정도가 변화하는 매질을 포함하고,상기 각 기판에서의 배향막은, 서로 직교하는 방향으로, 배향 처리가 실시되어 있는 표시 소자.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 매질은 전계를 인가함으로써 광학적 이방성의 정도가 변화하는 표시 소자.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 각 기판에,서로의 흡수축 방향이 직교함과 함께, 각각의 흡수축 방향이, 상기 양 배향막에서의 배향 처리의 방향과 직교 또는 평행해지도록 설치된 편광판을 구비하고 있는 표시 소자.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 배향막은 유기 박막으로 이루어진 표시 소자.
- 제4항에 있어서,상기 배향막은 폴리이미드로 이루어진 표시 소자.
- 제2항에 있어서,상기 매질은 마이너스의 유전 이방성을 갖는 막대 형상 분자를 포함하는 표시 소자.
- 제2항에 있어서,상기 매질은 네가티브형 액정성 화합물을 함유하고 있는 표시 소자.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 매질에 카이럴제가 첨가되어 있는 표시 소자.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 매질은 카이럴 물질인 표시 소자.
- 제2항에 있어서,상기 매질은 전계의 2차에 비례하여 굴절율이 변화하는 표시 소자.
- 제2항에 있어서,상기 매질은 유극성 분자를 함유하는 표시 소자.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 매질은,외장 무인가 시에 광학적 등방성을 나타내고, 외장을 인가함으로써 광학적 이방성이 발현되는 표시 소자.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 매질은,외장 무인가 시에 광학적 이방성을 나타내고, 외장을 인가함으로써 광학적 이방성이 소실되고, 광학적 등방성을 나타내는 표시 소자.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 매질을 구성하는 분자는,외장 인가 시 혹은 외장 무인가 시에 광학 파장 미만의 질서 구조를 갖고, 외장을 인가함으로써 질서 구조가 변화하는 표시 소자.
- 적어도 한쪽이 투명한 한쌍의 기판과, 상기 양 기판 사이에 협지된 물질층과, 상기 양 기판의 대향면에 각각 형성된 배향막을 구비하고, 상기 물질층에 외장을 인가함으로써 표시를 행하는 표시 소자를 구비한 표시 장치로서,상기 물질층은, 외장을 인가함으로써 광학적 이방성의 정도가 변화하는 매질을 포함하고,상기 각 기판에서의 배향막은, 서로 직교하는 방향으로, 배향 처리가 실시되어 있는 표시 장치.
