Abstract

본 발명은 다심 광섬유를 일체형으로 연결하여 케이블 접속구조를 용이하게 하는 다심 일괄형 광커넥터에 관한 것으로, 이러한 다심 일괄형 광커넥터는 다심 광섬유를 삽입 접착하여 끝면을 연마한 구조이며 양측면에 가이딩할 수 있는 가이드홈이 형성된 페룰 및 페룰을 가이딩하기 위하여 페룰에 형성된 가이드홈에 대응하는 돌출부재가 형성된 하우징을 포함함을 특징으로 한다.
본 발명에 의하면, 다심 일괄형 광커넥터의 구조를 변경하고 어댑터를 사용함으로써 다심 광섬유의 접속이 쉬우며 재접속으로 인한 작업시간 절감이 가능하고, 광접속시 위치고정점의 선점을 통한 구조개선으로 저접속손실을 구현할 수 있다.

Description

다심 일괄형 광커넥터{MT optical connector}
본 발명은 광섬유 결합소자에 관한 것으로, 특히 신호원, 검파기 혹은 광섬유와 광섬유를 결합하는 수동소자로 반복결합이 손쉽게 이루어지는 광커넥터에 관한 것이다.
광커넥터는 커넥터당 접속할 수 있는 광섬유의 수에 따라 ST, SC, FC, EC와 같은 단심 광커넥터와 MT, FDDI와 같은 다심 광커넥터로 구분된다. 그 중 다심 일괄형 광커넥터는 푸쉬-풀 결합방식으로 전송장치용 및 케이블용 구분없이 다중모드 광섬유에 대응하기 위하여 사용한다. 다심 일괄형 광커넥터는 다심 광섬유를 일체형으로 연결하여 케이블 접속구조를 어떻게 용이한 구조를 제작하여 케이블 접속시간 단축 및 설치 방법의 간소화 추진 및 평균접속손실 최저화(0.35db기준)를 위한 구조 형상이 중요하다.
이러한 사항을 고려해볼 때 융착접속기술에 의한 기계적 슬라이스 기술/현재 적용되고 있는 다심 일괄형 커넥터의 접속구조 방식의 어려움 및 접속시간단축 애로사항으로 인한 접속부의 구조방식의 한계가 있다.
도 1은 종래의 다심 일괄형 광커넥터를 도시한 것으로, 광섬유(110), 부트(120), 몸체부(130) 및 가이드 핀(140)으로 이루어진다.
광섬유(110)는 정보를 전송하는 수단으로 리본광섬유가 사용된다. 부트(120)는 외부에 노출된 광섬유(110)의 휨이나 비틀림을 방지하기 위한 것이다. 몸체부(130)는 부트(120)를 고정시키는 몸체이다. 가이드 핀(140)은 몸체부(130)를 결합시키는 수단이다.
이러한 다심 일괄형 광커넥터는 외부진동 및 충격으로 인한 가이드 핀(pin)의 크랙 및 빠짐현상이 발생되어 장기적 신뢰성에 문제가 발생한다. 인입된 커넥터 내부 가이드 핀에만 에폭시접착으로 인한 외부 인장력에 한계가 있다. 접속시 위치고정점의 일치화에 애로사항으로 조립접속손실이 높게 발생된다.
본 발명이 이루고자하는 기술적 과제는 인장력, 충격, 진동등의 신뢰성 특성이 강하며, 저손실 구조인 다심 일괄형 광커넥터를 제공하는데 있다.
도 1은 종래의 다심 일광형 광커넥터를 도시한 것이다.
도 2는 본 발명에 의한 다심 일괄형 광커넥터를 도시한 것이다.
도 3은 본 발명에 의한 다심 일괄형 광커넥터 플러그의 페룰을 도시한 것이다.
도 4는 본 발명에 의한 다심 일괄형 광커넥터를 결합하는 어댑터를 도시한 것이다.
도 5는 본 발명에 의한 다심 일괄형 광커넥터를 어댑터에 채결하는 상태를 도시한 것이다.
상기 기술적 과제를 해결하기 위한 본 발명에 의한 다심 일괄형 광커넥터는 다심 광섬유를 일체형으로 연결하여 케이블 접속구조를 용이하게 하는 다심 일괄형 광커넥터에 있어서, 상기 다심 광섬유를 삽입 접착하여 끝면을 연마한 구조이며 양측면에 가이딩할 수 있는 가이드홈이 형성된 페룰; 및 상기 페룰을 가이딩하기 위하여 상기 페룰에 형성된 가이드홈에 대응하는 돌출부재가 형성된 하우징을 포함함을 특징으로 한다.
이하 도면을 참조하여 본 발명을 설명하기로 한다.
도 2는 본 발명에 의한 다심 일괄형 광커넥터를 도시한 것으로, 페룰부(210), 하우징(220) 및 리본광섬유(230)로 이루어진다.
페룰부(210)는 플라스틱으로 정밀성형되어 있으며, 리본광섬유(230)접속을 위한 핵심형상이다.
하우징(220)은 내부에 프레임(도면에 도시되지 않음)과 완충장치(도면에 도시되지 않음)를 삽입하는데, 이러한 완충장치는 다심의 광섬유를 갖는 페롤이 안착되거나 하우징(220)을 어댑터에 삽입하고 위치 고정점의 원활한 접속 및 외부충격과 진동에 견딜 수 있도록 한다. 완충장치로는 스프링 핀이 사용되고, 상기 스프링 핀은 어댑터에 연결할 때 텐션(tension)을 주기 위하여 다심광섬유를 갖는 패롤과 하우징(220)사이에 고정시켜 사용된다.
또한 하우징(220)을 보호하기 위하여 보호커버(도면에 도시되지 않음)가 사용된다. 이러한 보호커버는 광커넥터 하우징(200)을 보호할 수 있는 구조로 광 커넥터(200)를 도 4에 도시되는 어댑터(400)에 삽입시 로킹 가이드하며, 보호커버의 내부에 장착된 여러 부품을 보호하고 이들이 외부에 노출되지 않도록 보호한다.
이러한 다심 일괄형 광커넥터는 다음과 같은 과정을 거쳐 제작된다. 페룰부(210)에 다심 광섬유를 삽입 정렬후 소형부트에 에폭시를 접착하고 몰딩한 후, 하우징(220)내부에 프레임(frame) 및 스프링을 안착한 후 페룰부(210) 삽입후 보호커버 및 여장 코드보호를 위한 케블라링 및 부트를 사용하여 에폭시 도포후 몰딩한다.
도 3은 본 발명에 의한 다심 일괄형 광커넥터의 페룰부를 도시한 것이다. 페룰(310)은 단면구조가 직사각형 구조이며 양측면에 가이딩할 수 있는 반원형의 가이드홈(320)이 형성되어 있다. 광섬유(330)는 휨이나 비틀림에 의한 광손실을 방지하기 위하여 고무(rubber) 재질의 부트(boot)로 덮혀있다.
상술한 본 발명에 의한 다심 일괄형 광커넥터를 결합하기 위해서는 어탭터가 사용되어야 한다.
도 4는 본 발명에 의한 다심형 광커넥터를 결합하기 위한 어댑터를 도시한 것이다.
어댑터(400)는 다심 일괄형 광커넥터(200)를 접속할 수 있는 구조이며, 광섬유의 접속방법을 간편하게 할 수 있으며 재질은 플라스틱으로 제작되어 탄성이 강한재질로 외부 환경에 적합한 구조로 다량의 광섬유를 터미네이팅 및 접속할 수 있 다.
어댑터(400)는 다심 일괄형 광커넥터(200)를 결합할 수 있는 잠금장치(도면에 도시되지 않음)와 다심 일괄형 광커넥터(200)를 밀착하여 축 방향으로 정렬하는 슬리브(도면에 도시되지 않음)로 구성되어 있다. 잠금장치는 푸시-풀방식의 체결장치로서, 어댑터(400)에 다심 일괄형 광커넥터(200)가 채결시 채결상태를 유지시켜 준다. 슬리브는 축 등의 외주에 끼워 사용하는 길쭉한 커플링 볼트 통 모양의 부품으로 어댑터(400)내부에 삽입되어 고정되며, 본 발명에 의한 다심 일괄형 광커넥터(200)의 접속으로 광접속손실 및 반사손실을 최대화할 수 있도록 하는 기능이며 재질은 동합금이나 지르코니아를 사용하며 정밀도를 높일 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 어댑터(400)는 내부에 슬리브를 안착후 초음파 융착기로 열융착한후 외관고정용 판스프링을 부착하였다.
도 5는 본 발명에 의한 다심 일괄형 광커넥터가 어댑터에 결합되는 상태를 도시한 것이다.
다심 일괄형 광커넥터(200)는 어댑터(400)의 일측과 타측에 결합되어 사용되므로 광접속이 용이하다.
본 발명에 의하면, 다심 일괄형 광커넥터의 구조를 변경하고 어댑터를 사용함으로써 다심 광섬유의 접속이 쉬우며 재접속으로 인한 작업시간 절감이 가능하고, 광접속시 위치고정점의 선점을 통한 구조개선으로 저접속손실을 구현할 수 있다.

Claims (5)

  1. 다심 광섬유를 일체형으로 연결하여 케이블 접속구조를 용이하게 하는 다심 일괄형 광커넥터에 있어서,
    상기 다심 광섬유를 삽입 접착하여 끝면을 연마한 구조이며 양측면에 가이딩할 수 있는 가이드홈이 형성된 페룰; 및
    일체형이고, 양측 내벽에 상기 페룰을 가이딩하기 위하여 상기 페룰에 형성된 가이드홈에 대응하는 돌출부재가 형성된 하우징을 포함함을 특징으로 하는 다심 일괄형 광커넥터.
  2. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 하우징이 결합되는 어댑터를 더 구비함을 특징으로 하는 다심 일괄형 광커넥터.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 어댑터는
    내부에 슬리브 및 외관 고정용 판스프링이 부착됨을 특징으로 하는 다심 일괄형 광커넥터.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 하우징은
    내부에 완충장치를 삽입함을 특징으로 하는 다심 일괄형 광커넥터.
