Description

房28の房を付けられた断面積は約24mm2であり、ヘッド面から計った房の体積は約0.27cm3(この体積は好ましくは約0.25cm3乃至0.29cm3の間にある)である。
The present invention relates generally to the field of oral care, and in particular to toothbrushes. The present invention further relates to a toothbrush having a three-dimensional bristle shape to provide improved cleaning of the roots of the teeth and the edges of the gums.
Tooth brushing and flossing are the basic steps for good oral hygiene. Unfortunately, although the general public understands that flossing should be done as part of good oral hygiene, it is unfortunately not widely accepted by the general public It was. Furthermore, even a person who flosses occasionally cannot properly floss to reach the entire mouth. Unfortunately, many commercially useful toothbrushes can clean the buccal surface on the outside of the teeth, but the rounded flats (plaques), debris, and roots of the gums Improved cleaning could not be performed on the intervening parts, the lower surface and other difficult-to-reach parts in the mouth.
One reason that such toothbrushes cannot properly clean the rearmost molars (eg, ignorant or second molars) is that one or more tufts attached to the toothbrush head located distally from the toothbrush handle. Is not angled in the direction along the head extending from the handle. Thus, the tuft does not extend well beyond the end of the toothbrush head in order to clean the molars behind the mouth sufficiently.
In addition, in the brush, which has a tuft of hair that is angled or bent with respect to the handle and the other tufts are bent away from the handle, all such tufts are essentially the same length, Have the same cross section. As a result, such bent tresses can be cleaned in a way that satisfies part of the teeth, but other parts of the teeth can be cleaned sufficiently because the tresses have a uniform length, spacing and cross-section. There wasn't.
In addition, some conventional toothbrushes have at most three tufts of bristle with different types of cross-sections. However, there are more than three parts of the tooth that need to be cleaned with a brush (eg, the outer cheek-facing surface, the gum rim, between the roots, the lower-facing surface, and the rearmost molar). Thus, conventional brushes did not have fully varying cross-section tufts specially designed to clean all parts of the teeth.
The present invention is intended to overcome one or more of the problems set forth above. Briefly summarizing one aspect of the present invention, a toothbrush comprises a handle, a head extending from the handle, and a plurality of tufts of bristles fixed or attached to the head. Of the plurality of tufts, a first tuft is a single tuft fixed to the head at a position away from the handle so that no other tuft is fixed to the head at a position farther from the handle than the first tuft . It is a bunch . The first tuft, the first tufts are attached are namely bent angle below about 81 ° respect to the virtual line (head surface phantom) in the tangential or flush against the face of the head is fixed Yes. The first tuft is inclined so that the head is away from the handle relative to the direction along the head extending from the handle.
By bending the first tufts, as described above, the tufts may extend beyond the end of the toothbrush head, thereby the back of the molars of the mouth can be sufficiently clean.
Of the plurality of tufts, the second tuft is inclined in the direction of the handle, the third tuft is angled at an acute angle with respect to the imaginary line of the head surface, and the second and third tufts have different cross sections. have.
Providing a bent tuft that varies in length, cross-section, color, material, and combination can clean more than a portion of the tooth with this bent tuft. For example, one type of bent tuft can clean the buccal surface of the tooth, and the other type of bent tuft can clean the root of the tooth.
A third aspect of the present invention is to provide a toothbrush comprising a handle, a head extending from the handle, and various tufts of hairs secured to the head. Tuft diversity comprises tufts with at least five different types of cross sections.
By providing a tuft having at least five types of cross-sections, such tuft is suitably suitable for all parts of the tooth (eg, the cheek-facing outer face, gum rim, root-to-root part, tongue-facing face). And the rearmost molar).
These and other aspects, objects, features and advantages of the present invention will be clearly understood from the following detailed description of the preferred embodiments of the invention, the appended claims, and the description based on the accompanying drawings. Let's go.

The total length of the toothbrush 10 is preferably about 19.6 cm, and the width of the head 14 is preferably about 1.3 cm at the widest portion. The main portion 16 and the head 14 of the handle 12 are composed of a single piece of polypropylene. Other parts, including thumb grip portion 18, optional trademark 24 (preferably about 2.1 cm long) and finger grip portion 20, are preferably thermoplastic elastomers, preferably kraton rubber (about 5 and about 70). Styrene and butadiene or isoprene hydrogenated or non-hydrogenated oil-filled block copolymer having a Shore A hardness of between. The thumb grip portion 18 and the finger grip portion 20 have a series of 17 raised ribs 22 that aid in gripping the handle. The rib 22 preferably has a width of 1.3 mm.
3-7, the plurality of tufts 26 of hair are secured or attached to the head 14 of the toothbrush. Each tress is made up of a number of hairs, preferably all hairs are rounded at the ends. Five different types of tufts are affixed to the head and each tuft has a cross-section that differs in area and shape from the other tufts.
The first mold 28 of the tuft is composed of hair made of PBT with an abrasive such as kaolin clay molecules mixed throughout polybutylene terephthalate (PBT). Such bristles are between 0.13 mm and 0.23 mm in diameter, preferably 0.18 mm in diameter. The length of the hair measured from the surface 30 of the head 14 is about 11.2 mm. Sectional area which is tufted tufts 28 is about 24 mm 2, the volume of the tuft measured from the head surface of about 0.27 cm 3 (during this volume is preferably from about 0.25 cm 3 to 0.29 cm 3 Yes). Only one mold 28 tuft is attached to the head 14, which is farthest from the handle 14 than the other tufts.
The second mold 32 of the tuft is made from the hair of the nylon indicator ™ mold and is made of 6.12 nylon and the outer surface is colored blue. As is well known to those skilled in the art, the blue coloration of such bristles will gradually wear out when the brush is used for extended periods of time, indicating the wear limit of the toothbrush. The bristles have a diameter of 0.13 mm to 0.23 mm, preferably a diameter of 0.18 mm. The length of the hair measured from the surface 30 of the head 14 is about 8.9 mm. The cross-sectional area of each tuft 32 is about 2.9 mm 2 . As shown in FIG. 6, the tuft of the mold 32 has a round cross section. Between eight and twelve mold 32 tufts are attached to the head 14.
The tufts of the third mold 34 are composed of hair made of PBT with an abrasive such as kaolin clay molecules mixed throughout the PBT. The bristles have a diameter of 0.13 mm to 0.23 mm, preferably a diameter of 0.18 mm. The length of the hair measured from the surface 30 of the head 14 is about 11.2 mm. The cross-sectional area of each tuft 34 is about 1.7 mm 2 . Between eight and twelve mold 32 tufts are attached to the head 14. As shown in FIG. 6, the tuft of the mold 34 is rectangular and rounded.
The tufts of the fourth mold 36 are composed of hair made of PBT with an abrasive such as kaolin clay molecules mixed throughout the PBT. The bristles have a diameter of 0.13 mm to 0.23 mm, preferably a diameter of 0.18 mm. The length of the hair measured from the surface 30 of the head 14 is about 11.2 mm. The cross-sectional area of each tuft 36 is about 2.6 mm 2 . Four to six tufts of mold 36 are attached to the head 14. As shown in FIG. 6, the tuft of the mold 36 has a rectangular shape with round ends, and is wider than the tuft of the mold 34 in the lateral direction of the head. The fifth and last mold 38 tufts are composed of bristles made of PBT with an abrasive such as kaolin clay molecules mixed throughout the PBT. The bristles have a diameter of 0.13 mm to 0.23 mm, preferably a diameter of 0.15 mm. The length of the hair measured from the surface 30 of the head 14 is about 8.9 mm. The cross-sectional area of each tuft 38 is about 5.4 mm 2 . Four to six tufts of mold 38 are attached to the head 14. As shown in FIG. 6, the tufts of the mold 38 are rectangular with rounded ends and are wider than the tufts of the mold 36.
As described above, regarding the cross-sectional area of each tuft, the tuft of the mold 28 has a cross section that is four times larger than any other tuft attached to the head 14. Although each tuft has been described as being made of a specific material as described above, other materials can be used. Any hair attached to the head 11 is typically PBT with or without abrasives such as kaolin clay, 6.12 nylon with or without abrasives, or nylon with or without abrasives It consists of an indicator (trademark).
Furthermore, the hairs in and between the tufts can be varied in length, diameter, cross-sectional shape, cross-sectional area, color and are composed of different materials.
As shown in FIG. 6, a first-type tuft 28 is provided at the front free end of the head, and three rows of tufts extending in the longitudinal direction are arranged in the rear structure area. That is, tufts 36 and tufts 38 are alternately arranged in the longitudinal direction in the center row, and tufts 32 and tufts 34 are alternately arranged in the longitudinal direction in the left and right rows, as shown in FIGS. In addition, adjacent tufts in each column in the longitudinal direction are arranged so that long ones and short ones alternate.
As shown in FIGS. 2, 4, 5 and 7, all tufts of the head 14 are preferably 81 ° to the imaginary line tangent to the face 30 of the head 14 with respect to the direction D or the direction opposite to the direction D. Less than, more preferably between about 69 ° to about 81 °, and most preferably a 75 ° angle. If the surface 30 is not curved but rather flat, the line 40 is coplanar with the surface 30. The two outer rows 42 of tufts are angled away from the handle 12 with respect to the direction D. The inner tuft 44 of the tufts is tilted toward the handle 12 in the opposite direction to the direction D, except for the large tuft 28 which is tilted away from the handle 12 with respect to the direction D.
The toothbrush 10 is manufactured by the following method as is well known to those skilled in the art. Each tuft of hair has a selected material, length and diameter, and a tuft is formed by collecting the desired amount of hair together. The tuft is then inserted into a partial opening in the mold of the injection molding machine. The ends of the tufts in or inserted into the mold recess are melted and the hairs are joined together so that a molten mass or ball is formed at the tuft ends. The mold part that supports the tuft is joined with the other part of the mold that integrally defines the recess used to form the main part 16 of the toothbrush. The molten mass of tufts is placed in the recess.
Polypropylene is then injected into the recess to mold the portion 16 of the toothbrush 10. The polypropylene is cooled at the location where the partially completed toothbrush is moved to the second injection molding station. The cooled and solidified polypropylene adheres the molten mass of tufts to the head 14 of the toothbrush. At the second injection molding station, the partially completed brush is pressed into a second mold having a recess to mold the thumb grip portion 18, trademark 24 and finger grip portion 20. The thermoplastic elastomer is injected into the mold, and after cooling the elastomer and completing the toothbrush 10, the toothbrush 10 is removed from the mold. The toothbrush is then packaged.
