【従来の技術】従来、男性型脱毛症および円形脱毛症な
どの治療・改善を目的として、血行促進剤、細胞賦活
剤、ビタミン剤、抗男性ホルモン剤を有効成分とする育
毛剤が知られている。しかしながら、脱毛および発毛の
メカニズムについては未だ不明な点が多く、十分な治療
・改善効果は得られていない。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】したがって、脱毛を防
止し、発毛、育毛を促進する有効成分の開発と、その育
毛剤への応用が望まれている。

【課題を解決するための手段】斯かる実情に鑑み、本発
明者は多くの天然物および化合物について育毛効果を検
討した結果、下記一般式（１）で表されるテオフィリン
に強い育毛効果を有することを見いだし、本発明を完成
するに至った。

ジメチルキサンチンであり、天然または合成されたもの
の何れでもよく、市販品を利用することができる。

【０００５】本発明に用いられるテオフィリンの全組成
中の配合量は、十分に効果の得られる範囲の検討から、
２〜１０重量％（以下単に％で示す）である。１０％を
越えると、その増加分に見合った効果の向上は望めな
い。また、本発明の育毛剤はテオフィリンの他に必要に
応じて、添加剤および育毛剤として慣用されている他の
薬剤を本発明の効果を損なわない範囲で適宜配合するこ
とができる。添加剤としては、例えば、ヒノキチオー
ル、塩化ベンザルコニウム、ヘキサクロロフェン、ウン
デシレン酸などの抗菌剤、メントールなどの清涼剤、高
級脂肪酸、高級アルコール類、界面活性剤、香料、酸化
防止剤、エタノール、精製水、保湿剤などが挙げられ
る。また、育毛剤として慣用されている他の薬剤として
は、例えば、センブリエキス、アセチルコリン誘導体な
どの血管拡張剤、スウェルチノーゲン、ビタミンＥニコ
チン酸エステル、トウガラシチンキ、朝鮮ニンジンを挙
げることができ、これらを１種または２種以上混合して
使用することができる。
