Description
(1)多孔性支持膜上に多官能第一級芳香族アミンと多官能酸ハロゲン化物との重縮合反応によるポリアミド分離機能層を形成する工程、続いて、該ポリアミド分離機能層中の第一級芳香族アミノ基と反応してジアゾニウム塩またはその誘導体を生成する化合物を含む溶液に接触させる改質処理工程A、および、多官能フェノール性水酸基を有する芳香族化合物を含む溶液に接触させる改質処理工程B、を行うことを特徴とする複合半透膜の製造方法。

参考例3、実施例8〜9および比較例4において膜評価は、温度25℃、pH6.5に調整した海水(TDS濃度約3.5%、ホウ素濃度約5.0ppm)を操作圧力5.5MPaで供給するときの透過水塩濃度を測定することにより、次の式から求めた。
また、透過する水量は単位時間(日)に単位面積(m2)当たりの膜を透過する透過水量(m3/m2/日)として求めた。
これらの膜性能を相対的に評価するために、本実施例においては、対象となる参考例の膜性能との透過水量比と除去率比を用いて性能比較を行った。具体的には次式によって求めた。
除去率比=(100−各実施例および各比較例の除去率)/(100−参考例の除去率)
透過水量比は、未処理の複合半透膜に各処理を行った時の透過水量変化を比で表したもので、透過水量比が1以上を示すと透過水量が増加していることを表す。除去率比は、未処理の複合半透膜に各処理を行った時の除去率変化を比で表したもので、除去率比が1以下を示すと除去率が増加していることを表す。
<参考例1>
多孔性支持膜である布帛補強ポリスルホン支持膜(限外濾過膜)は、次の手法により製造した。すなわち、単糸繊度0.5および1.5デシテックスのポリエステル繊維の混繊で、通気度0.7cm3/cm2/秒、平均孔径7μm以下の、縦30cm、横20cmの大きさの湿式不織布をガラス板上に固定し、その上に、ジメチルホルムアミド(DMF)溶媒のポリスルホン濃度15重量%の溶液(2.5ポアズ:20℃)を、総厚み200μmになるようにキャストし、直ちに水に浸積してポリスルホンの多孔性支持膜を得た(これをPS支持膜と記す)。
<参考例2>
トリメシン酸クロライド濃度を0.07重量%になるように溶解した溶液を用いた以外は参考例1と同様の方法で複合半透膜を得た。得られた複合半透膜の透過水量は0.64m3/m2/日、塩化ナトリウム除去率は94.8%、イソプロピルアルコール除去率は86.9%であった。
参考例1で得た複合半透膜を、硫酸によりpHを3に調整した4000mg/lの亜硝酸ナトリウム水溶液に30℃で40秒浸漬した(改質処理工程A)。その後、水酸化ナトリウムによりpH10に調整した0.1重量%フロログルシン(1,3,5−トリヒドロキシベンゼン)水溶液に3分間浸漬した(改質処理工程B)。参考例1で得た複合半透膜との透過水量比および除去率比を表1に示す。
改質処理工程Bにおいて、フロログルシン水溶液の代わりに1重量%レゾルシノール(m−ジヒドロキシベンゼン)水溶液を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様に複合半透膜を作製した。参考例1で得た複合半透膜との透水量比および除去率比を表1に示す。
参考例2で得た複合半透膜を、硫酸によりpHを3に調整した3500mg/lの亜硝酸ナトリウム水溶液に30℃で40秒浸漬した(改質処理工程A)。その後、水酸化ナトリウムによりpH10に調整した0.1重量%ピロガロール水溶液に3分間浸漬した(改質処理工程B)。参考例2との透過水量比および除去率比を表1に示す。
改質処理工程Bにおいて、ピロガロール水溶液の代わりに表1に示す多官能フェノール性水酸基を有する芳香族化合物の0.1重量%水溶液を用いた以外は、実施例3と同様に複合半透膜を作製した。参考例2で得た複合半透膜との透過水量比および除去率比を表1に示す。
<比較例1>
改質処理工程Bにおいて、フロログルシン水溶液の代わりに1重量%ヨウ化カリウム水溶液を用いて15時間浸漬した以外は、実施例1と同様に複合半透膜を作製した。参考例1で得た複合半透膜との透水量比および除去率比を表1に示す。
<比較例2>
改質処理工程Bにおいて、フロログルシン水溶液の代わりに蒸留水を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様に複合半透膜を作製した。参考例1で得た複合半透膜との透水量比および除去率比を表1に示す。
<比較例3>
改質処理工程Bにおいて、ピロガロール水溶液の代わりに蒸留水を用いた以外は、実施例3と同様に複合半透膜を作製した。参考例2で得た複合半透膜との透水量比および除去率比を表1に示す。
<参考例3>
PS支持膜をm−フェニレンジアミンの3.4重量%水溶液に2分間浸漬した後、デカンにトリメシン酸クロライドを0.15重量%になるように溶解した溶液を用いた以外は参考例1と同様の方法で複合半透膜を得た。得られた複合半透膜の透過水量は0.81m3/m2/日、塩除去率は99.8%、ホウ素除去率は90.0%であった。
参考例3で得た複合半透膜を、硫酸によりpHを3に調整した3500mg/lの亜硝酸ナトリウム水溶液に30℃で40秒浸漬した(改質処理工程A)。その後、水酸化ナトリウムによりpH10に調整した0.1重量%フロログルシン水溶液に3分間浸漬した(改質処理工程B)。参考例3で得た複合半透膜との透過水量比および除去率比を表2に示す。
参考例3で得た複合半透膜を、水酸化ナトリウムによりpH10に調整した0.1重量%フロログルシン水溶液に3分間浸漬した(改質処理工程B)。その後、硫酸によりpHを3に調整した3500mg/lの亜硝酸ナトリウム水溶液に30℃で40秒浸漬した(改質処理工程A)。その後、参考例3で得た複合半透膜との透過水量比および除去率比を表2に示す。
<比較例4>
改質処理工程Bにおいて、フロログルシン水溶液の代わりに蒸留水を用いた以外は、実施例8と同様に複合半透膜を作製した。参考例3で得た複合半透膜との透水量比および除去率比を表2に示す。
Claims (2)
- 多孔性支持膜上に多官能第一級芳香族アミンと多官能酸ハロゲン化物との重縮合反応によるポリアミド分離機能層を形成する工程、続いて、該ポリアミド分離機能層中の第一級芳香族アミノ基と反応してジアゾニウム塩またはその誘導体を生成する化合物を含む溶液に接触させる改質処理工程A、および、多官能フェノール性水酸基を有する芳香族化合物を含む溶液に接触させる改質処理工程B、を行うことを特徴とする複合半透膜の製造方法。
- 前記多官能フェノール性水酸基を有する芳香族化合物が、レゾルシノール、ヒドロキノン、ピロガロール、フロログルシン、没食子酸、2,3,4−トリヒドロキシ安息香酸、2,4,6−トリヒドロキシ安息香酸、1,2,4−トリヒドロキシベンゼン、フラボノイド、およびこれらの誘導体から選ばれる少なくとも1種からなる請求項1に記載の複合半透膜の製造方法。
