Abstract

1451850 Devices for cleaning nozzles DEERING MILLIKEN RESEARCH CORP 12 Dec 1974 [3 Jan 1974 17 May 1974] 53796/74 Heading B2F [Also in Division B6] A printing device wherein dye is projected from a manifold 20 (Fig. 3) through orifices 28 has a nozzle 52 movable across the machine along the manifoldfor projecting a cleaning liquid, e.g. water, against the flow of dye. Blockages in the orifices are thereby forced back into manifold 20, where they are recirculated, and removed by a filter in the system. In the embodiment of Fig. 3, the nozzle is pivoted at 53 for removal of the nozzle from its operative position. In the embodiment of Fig. 6, two nozzles 83 project wash liquid into the orifices, and two nozzles 86 project a spray of wash liquid on the surface of the bar containing the orifices. [GB1451850A]
