A combined can piercer and pouring spout comprises a sleeve 1 of thermoplastic material, a hollow stud 2 of stainless steel having opposed piercing elements 3 and an annular recess 5 carrying a gasket 6, the spout end 7 of the sleeve 1 having a removable closure plug 9 of synthetic plastics. Ribs. 11 on the plug 9 form a seal inside the spout. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), a protective cap is provided round the piercing elements.
