Abstract
933,912. Combine-harvesters. MASSEY-FERGUSON G.m.b.H. Sept. 30, 1959 [Oct. 1, 1958], No. 31417/59. Class 6(3). [Also in Group XXX] In a combine harvester, grain is elevated by chain conveyer 33 and falls into receptacle 35 whence it is discharged into rotary perforated screen 37 by auger 36. The screenings fall, and are then discharged down shoot 42 by auger 41, whilst the larger grain falls down passage 39 into the shallow longitudinal hopper 40. Along the top of said hopper 40 is shaft 43 carrying augers 44, 45, 46 which serve to spread the grain along the length of the hopper. Alternatively, the screen may be omitted so that the grain is elevated to fall into the hopper and is then spread along the hopper by an auger.
