Abstract

939,837. Reservoir brushes; mops. BETTERWEAR PRODUCTS Ltd. June 12, 1962, No. 22570/62. Class 19. Bristle tufts 6 surround a foamed polyurethane pad 4 which is releasably secured in a polyvinylchloride head 1 by clips 9 fixed to the pad. The pad 4 and its plastic backing strip 7 are removable together, for cleaning, or replacing by a fresh pad having a fully-charged detergent impregnated portion 11. The backing strip may have a curved under face to arch the pad outwardly (Fig. 3, not shown). The device is used for cleaning carpets. In another form for brushing upholstery (Fig. 4, not shown), a liquid reservoir is provided in the handle of the device and a trapezoidal pad is carried on a perforated polyvinylchloride backing strip having sockets for snap-engagement with bulbous headed screws on the head.
