Abstract
870,008. Pneumatic conveyers. HERMANNS, W. Nov. 24,1959 [Nov. 24, 1958], No. 39861/59. Class 78 (1). In an emptying device for containers for finely powdered material of the kind in which the material is fluidized by compressed air supplied through porous-walled hoses 4 which extend along the bottom of the container, the connections for the hoses are carried by a partition 8 at the end of the container remote from the outlet 2, the part of the partition above the hoses having an inclination not less than the angle of repose of the material. The partition forms with the container a pressure distribution chamber 7. Sleeves 9, Fig. 3, which are welded to the partition have the hoses secured to them by clips 10. Tubular members 11 inserted in the sleeves have solid hose inlays 12 welded to them which have ribs extending along their upper surface. These inlays keep the hoses flat and the ribs form air ducts with the hoses. A transversely arranged porous hose 13 is disposed immediately above the sleeves 9 to prevent the material, which slides off the inclined part of the partition, from clogging in the vicinity of the impermeable sleeves.
