Abstract
868,332. Hair clippers. TETTIS, R. J. Sept. 19, 1957, No. 29561/57. Class 131. A member 16, having a socket 17 for an auxiliary comb 18 and forming a fulcrum on which a clipper is tiltable to graduate the length of hair left uncut, is secured to the clipper casing 10 by a plate 12 the ends 13 of which are rolled to form spring sleeves 14 inclined outwardly and laterally to the longitudinal axis of the clipper and slidably and detachably receiving bowed spring arms 19 extending from the socket 17 which has a flat bearing surface 20 extending at an angle to the undersurface of the cutting head and forming a runner slidable on the back 21 of a hand comb 21 which lifts hair during cutting. The arms 19 are spread by engagement in the sleeves 14 to bind therein and hold the auxiliary comb in contact with the cutting head the rear edge 23 of the surface 20 forming the fulcrum point. In a modification the plate 12 is detachably secured to the clipper by a screw.
