849,242. Sponges; soap applicators. DUPUY, C. F. J. March 20, 1958, No. 8977/58. Class 131 [Also in Group XXIII] A soap &c. applicator comprises superimposed layers of sponge sheet material united at the edges to form a pocket with an opening for insertion of soap &c. and means extending into the pocket between the layers to prevent egress of the soap &c. The blank shown in Fig. 3 of rubber or cellulose sponge or of polyurethane foam is folded at 13, 14, 15 and stitched at 16, 17, 18 to form a pocket having an opening at 22 and an inturned flap, apertured at 10. In the modification shown in Fig. 4a a restricted opening is formed by the rows of stitching 161, 17<SP>1</SP>.
