Abstract

776,699. Jigging conveyers. PNEUMATIC SCALE CORPORATION, Ltd. May 27, 1955, No. 15427/55. Class 78 (1). In a conveyer for handling coarse material 40, the material falls from a storage hopper through a vertically adjustable conduit 10 on to a jigging conveyer 12 which feeds it on to a more rapidly-vibrating conveyer 14. The conveyer 14 is supported by thin flexible leaf-springs 16, 18 which are anchored to a base member 20. The member 20 is supported by relatively rigid spring straps 22, 24 which are secured at their upper ends to posts 26, 28 upstanding from a fixture 30. The lower end of the strap 22 is attached to a flattened or cut-out portion 52 of a shaft 54 which can be rotatably adjusted in a clamp bearing 56. The forward movement of the member 20 may be increased or decreased by turning the shaft 54. The conveyer 14 is vibrated by an electric vibrator 32, 34 mounted on the member 20. The conveyer 12 is connected rigidly to the base 20 by brackets 38. The relative amplitudes of vibration of the conveyers 12, 14 is varied by adjusting the position of weights 42, 48.
