303,699. Levi, I., (trading as Fabbrica Italiana di Penne a Serbatoio Aurora.). March 30,1928. Nib-retracting reservoir pens; regulating ink-supply.-In a nibretracting reservoir pen having ink - supply controlling - means, the controlling means consists of a rotary shutter 10 secured to a stem 12 which is mounted in the nib-carrier, and is provided with a finger 13 engaging in a helical groove in the barrel 1, so that longitudinal movement of the rib-carrier causes rotary motion of the shutter to bring an aperture 11 therein into or out of register with the duct 9 in the feed-bar 2. The shutter is pressed against the inner end of the feed-bar by a spring 15 abutting against a head 18 on the stem 12 or against a shoulder in the nib-carrier. The outer end' of the helical groove in the barrel can be enlarged in order to direct the pin 13 correctly into the groove irrespective of its position at the commencement of the retractive movement.
